We all know that the Turtles can pop their heads into there shells to do things like avoid ax swipes. Does anybody know of an instance, either in the TV show or comics or anything, where the Turtles go completely into their shells? I would think it would be useful, to avoid a rain of gunfire perhaps. Real turtles can go into their shells, so I would assume the TMNT could also.

I didn't see that Jarrah White had posted a question just like this on the New TMNT Discussion board. Sorry about that. I think it belongs here anyway.

I know in "The Case of the Killer Pizzas" they tucked their heads inside their shells to avoid being hit by falling pots and pans...

And unless my mind's fooling me, I know there was at least one episode where all 4 of them fall on the ground and they tuck their whole bodies into their shells, maybe NTCF would know.

I think that you are right, there is just one episode that they are entirely in their shells....I do not remember which episode it was...but I bet it is difficult to do it.

When the Turtles were mutated into humanoid form thier limbs obviosly became longer so it would probably be hard to tuck all that in to their shells.
