why didn't they? they could have had shredder try to ruin christmas. they could have had the foot soldiers dressed as wooden soldiers in the thanksgiving parade. hell when they were in the artic krang could have invading santas workshop and dressed up as santa or shredder as shredder claws. they even could have done something with the rat king and the nutcracker theme.
i think the only one that had anything was the 2003 series.

and yes i do remember the live action sing along.

Great point. Perfect series for it, perfect cultural timing back then.

Because the He-Man cartoon already had one and they knew they'd never top it in a million, billion years, probably.

I’ve always thought it was weird I Love Lucy never had a proper Christmas episode. The clip show doesn’t really count imo.

I mean it was a big show at the time and still is but how did they not make an episode where Lucy causes a mix up during Christmas of all times?

I think both the Fred Wolf and at least the Nickelodeon cartoon (as it was produced later) should also have a Christmas party in the Turtles' hideout.

Because Splinter is a Shintoist?

I think it's been asked before, and yes it makes more sense in FW TMNT than in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003. At least We wish you a Turtle Christmas is a christmas classic (https://miscrave.com/articles/musical-tmnt/). I mean we even had an easter special, who has an easter special? Halloween would've been a good one as well.

There was never an ‘87 series. The miniseries came out in late 1987. The syndicated series, on the other hand, started in September of 1988. The CBS SATAM episodes were introduced in the fall of 1990.

The regular syndicated and SATAM programs were a continuation to the miniseries, but many have argued that the miniseries was more epic than anything that followed. It’s hard not to notice the differences.

I’m surprised myself that there was not a CBS Fred Wolf TMNT Christmas special. Both the Fred Wolf TMNT syndicated series and CBS SATAM show were the top rated children’s programs from 1989 to 1991. 1990 would have the perfect year for a Fred Wolf TMNT Christmas special.

I had believed any "miniseries" could be described as a "series".

I made the other thread so this one wouldn't be derailed

Since we never got a xmas special the social media managers now have bad photoshops of these bad recreations of the OT turtles for their social media accounts:

Why can't they just re-use art that they had:

It’s not the same show.

The miniseries is an advertisement for only the 1988 action figures. The 1988 animated series introduces us to the characters that would be in both the 2nd and 3rd waves of TMNT action figures from 1989. Lastly, the CBS Saturday morning series features the characters and turtles in costumes sold as toys from 1990 to around 1995.

Playmates includes the miniseries in the About Turtles description, but the classic original animated series from 1988 is highlighted above all else.

Unfortunately, the 90s are never coming back. The retro collection TMNT have been used for every product since the late 2000s and Nickelodeon will continue to place them on every TMNT product in this century.

Also, Mikey, could you resize or "Spoiler" tag that humongous image? It's throwing off the whole thread in my Mobile view.

EDIT: Thanks!

The packaging showcases a contradiction as it states 1987-1995 yet has 1988. Its 1987.

Anyway, I know that We Wish You a Turtle Christmas is bad, but I still like it. Its bad in a good way, I held that opinion since I was six when it came out. Coming out of Their Shell was embarrassing when I was in kindergarten and it was the first thing I thought sucked that was TMNT, but We Wish You a Turtle Christmas is a different kind of bad.

I think people would look at my evidence if there were a spoiler tag nonetheless.

The ‘88 turtles lacked beaks, used their lingo more, rarely had their weapons, smiled more, walked around in brighter settings, and met more characters. There were wackier storylines for the 1988 to 1989 show. The 1988 animated series is the syndicated series that most children of the 80s and 90s are familiar with.

1987 to 1996 is what is in the description and the animated show did begin in 1988. The miniseries is not the animated series. Playmates meant 1988.

Technically the Turtles should never celebrate Christmas. Hamato Yoshi was born in Japan and lived through the 70's and 80's, I severely doubt he celebrated Christmas in his homeland.

So there's no reason Splinter should bring the tradition with him to America. I never understood why even Mirage did a Christmas issue with Mike's one-shot.
