So?? What do you guys think about this one... there's no topics so I figured I'd post...

Personally I'd say the story was pretty wikkid, one of my favorites... although I would have much rathered Deeraj being a temporary character.. not one they spent more than 1 issue on.. I really like the character that they've given Leonardo... much rougher than in the TV Series... almost reminds me of Raphs anger.. except with slight reason behind it ^^

PS: Cover was AWESOME.. next month's issue seems to have an awesome cover as well... but the art wasn't as strong as the other issues... april really looks different on each page. Overall well done still.

I thought it was ok. I thought the story was better, but I don't like the new character. He just seems so boring. Nothing really special about him. As usual the art was great. I hope either 1) the new character evolves into someone more interesting or 2) he doesn't stick around for long.

I don't get it. The story has NOTHING to do with the preview summary. Still a good story, though...

I really liked this issue....I liked the story a lot more than the one in the previous issue........But what really ticks me off about this series is that they still haven't finished up the Casey Jones story!

Oh ya, my letter was also published in this issue! Yay!

Thats cool cqb or might I say Wayne. I think that is you since you said you needed more Casey. I might be mistaken. Pretty good story but as Mike said the new character needs some pazzam or something to boost him up. Great art as usual keep up the good work.

No, I actually wrote the letter asking about a TF/TMNT crossover......

I really liked it...I just think of Dheeraj as a different Angel really, should bring up some good storylines. The story was cool, nice bit of humour ("Oh absolutely. That's the ninja way: We shout 'ready or not, here we come!' just to be sporting") and the little bits of action looked nice

Leo was acting kinda weird (too nonserious or jovial) but I liked it, a refreshing change from how you usually see him (ok, he does have some of the funniest lines in the new TV series but not often)

I didn't like how April looked a bit odd sometimesbut it didn't grate or anything (because usually everything else looks really cool, like when Leo's first talking to April) and Dheeraj looked a bit odd funny sometimes but still, good outweighs the bad by far.

Did anyone not think it was weird how Dheeraj didn't want any help so Jaya just left him, she didn't protest or anything (I assume we just didn't see this)

But overall a great issue

I really liked this issue. The story was great, the art was top notch, and I like the new direction the comic has taken. The in jokes were really funny too. Props to everyone at DW.

loved the line..."You're not real, you're a MIRAGE"
Leo: "Interesting choice of words..."

These seem to just be glorified PSAs... I'm guessing that this book will be very superficial with no engaging story arcs at all at this point.

--> >..ehh.. just cuz it's a good book ..doesn't mean ya have ta hate it..
:goofygri:

i'm glad they can vere away from the toon.. Peter David's character dev. isn't anything like i've really seen in TMNT before.. plus..they keep it all connected. Dheeraj is one of my fave chars. now.. vhatever..

..Shredder will pop up soon.. ya can feel it.. they are just gettin' warmed up .. T4 will be here be4 ya know it..

I haven't read this issue yet, but from what I hear, it sounds like Dreamwave is going into a similar direction that Archie went into where the TMNT focus on alot of the world's econimic and biological problems..

Well, for a fangrrl who likes to read about emotions and theory and feelings that go into a good fight, I thought this was a good issue. Even though Leo was acting too lax at first, he did shape up to his more disciplined frame of mind when he told Dheeraj what was what. I liked the explaination between sparring and combat, and what it took to stare down someone.

My only complaint is that Raj seemed to have recovered pretty quick. He had this huge eye, with April fretting about a concussion... and then what seems like a few hours later he looked fine again and was kicking Thoog arse. Unless there was a skip of time in there that I wasn't aware of...

No, I actually wrote the letter asking about a TF/TMNT crossover......
That's funny though... I never realized that Hasbro and Playmates are 'fierce competitors'. So much so that they dare not think of letting thier toys 'play' together in the same comic. *tsk* :P

*comes back* Whoa... yeah, where did you snag that piccy at, Tok? From Diamondback er something?

SPOILER:

some kid is helping out april clean up the shop. hes taking some martial arts class, and daydreams of saving a girl he has a crush on. he goes outside, done for the day, and sure-enough, his crush is getting robbed. he goes in to help, freezes, and gets the ever-living snot beat out of him. april sees him, and brings him in to help him. she introduces him to leo. leo teaches him to be confident so he wont freeze up.

he runs into the thugs again, and this time, thanks to leo's instructions, is able to win. the issue ends with the thugs saying a kid that tough should join their gang. if he refuses, they are gonna kill him.

hope that helps stefano!

did anybody else notice that this ish was seemingly modeled after the Mirage short "New York Ninja"? Where some thugs were picking on a little Chinese kid named Chang Lao and then Don taught the kid how to fight? ... bears much similarity.

probably a coincidence, seeing as how neither version is really anything new in the world of story telling hehe

OK.. now I have to say i DO love the new DW comic. I think it's great that someone else has the chance to handle this liscense and I refuse to judge it only six issues into it's printing especially since only 2 of those issues have been completely original.

I do hope that the story improves a bit though. I can see it takeing a bit for it to really get started. And it's possible they are doing single turtle related issues to help give you a better idea of how THEY write the characters.

All in all.. I think the story is fantastic. it has tremendous potential. Sure it's not fantastical right now. but the potential for it to just completely blow us away is there. I say we give them a chance to just get it started. sometimes things are a little rough in the begining stages. once they smooth it out. find their groove and so forth. Who knows what we will be seeing.

now here is my only gripe. the art in this one seemed a little inconsistant at times. so I am not sure what was going on there.. it looked GREAT but.. some parts didn't really match up. and I dunno.. I can't draw but I have been told by everyone I know I have a good eye.. so they always ask me to crituiqe their art.. and I did find a few things i COULD nitpick at but wont.

still.. the issue was VERY good and I really hope to see more with the character development.

What easter egg? Enlighten me

I looked at what I thought was the 8th page (is that including the advert?) and it has Dheeraj being beaten up in 3 cells and thats it...

And I'm not too worldly on all turtles knowledge

hmm...ok i've been looking at this page over and over...not sure it's that you think the guy is hun..i don't think he is..just the same body type....he really doesnt look much like hun at all and we've allready seen him in the book...so I don't think thats what your talking about..is there something elese....
but if you mean the easter egg on page no.6!! lol the one of the first tmnt movie on the theator wall thats bad ass didn't notice that before.....
but now I see what you did you counted the cover and inside cover as page lol....
pretty neet stuff

the story was nice..not the best TMNT story ever though mind you...sort of like the filler episodes on the new show....there fun but not the best...
the art...hmm i don't know it seems to be lacking something that the previous issues had...I did also get confused on peoples races in this issue....april and a few others looked black, latino, white,or asian threw the comic a few times..not that it really matters besides April I guess...but maybe cause people like to know what race these guys and gals are...I think it's all the brown tones used in the comic that make it a bit hard to tell at times....but I do love the brown tones...but LeSean your art is beautiful and an extremely original style and I love it hard-core! I also have to say it's also really nice to see a big mix of races in your version..seeing as its been mostly white people in the lives of the TMNT.....which seemed a bit racist to me at times.....I'm glad you use Baxter allot also he's one of my new fave villains...just one more complaint though...what happened with the original story the cover was for? is it going to come along later or was it scraped for this one? I'd really like to know what the turtles have in common with Hun!
ooo and how could I forget I loved the old show style homage there with the pizza you go man! heh
keep up the good work LeSean
