Question #1:
I had a set of all the TMNT episodes, but I never had a chance to really watch them, I was trying to figure something out:
In the late part of the series, did the turtles get a little darker again? I think I remember they redid the opening a little, the series got cooler looking and darker. Then I found a cel on ebay where their eye holes in their bandanas is larger, and you can actually see some of the skin around the eye. (Like in the movie)- Did the theme song change, did the opening really change?
When I had the episodes, I popped the last tape in and watched a few episodes, and I couldnt find this. Does any one know what I'm talking about, and around what episodes #'s it was?
Also: Which episode (s) did Usagi appear in?
Thanks for the help!

Usagi appeared in Season 3 in the episode appropriately called "Usagi Yojimbo".
With regards to the TMNT changing visually, yes that did happen near the end of the series, or what is known informally as the "Red sky episodes". At that point the show was darker and more action oriented.

Usagi appered twice in Season 3
"Usagi Yojumbo" and "Usagi Come Home" were originally designed to spin-off Usagi into his own cartoon, but the deal fell through, this was not uncommon in cartoons, and even Power Rangers attempted to launch a spin-off within thier continunity with Masked Rider.
But as you can see, although Masked Ridfer DID get his own series, the continunity was completly different from the one established in his first apperance on Power Rangers.

Thanks for the help, I want to pick up the episodes again to see the turtles get edgier again! lol And to think I had all the episodes once.
It must have been only a hand ful of episodes where they changed a bit.
I cant believe I didnt watch the last episode! Is it actually like a "final episode" or just any other old story that happens to be the last?
Season 3 eh? cool, its too bad Usagi didnt get his own show. It would have been cool, but I dont think it would have really caught on. Oh well

It was a pretty decent conclusion. I think that it was meant to be the final because it tied in a lot with a plot point from the first 5 episodes. It was an ending of sorts and not just any old episode. But, that said, it didn't close things off in such a way that there'd never be any more to the story.

I always considered "Turtle trek" to be the final episode, since it actually concluded something meaningful. They really should have stopped the show after that one, instead of dragging it face down through the dirt.

I liked the last 3 seasons.

Same here, allthough I think season 8 is definetly the best of them, They even made Shredder a serious villain again. My favorite season after S1.

I liked Seasons Eight-Ten as well, (favourate seasons are 1,2,3,7) it was nice to see Shredder and Krang one last time, I hated Dregg, AND Carter, but they did'nt ruin the quality of the episodes.

You and me both dude!!! But I really hope they don't show Carter or Dregg in the new show.

I wouldn't worry, there is VERY little chance any of the characters designed for the old show would return.

Laird has said that Krang, Rocksteady or Bebop would never appear, and I don't see him putting in others like Mutagen Man, Manta Ray, ect in.

The series may have looked darker, but the last two seasons sucked. A politically correct sidekick nearly as annoying as Keno and the mutation crap .. bleh. "Grrr, we can't beat these guys unless we mutate into our superstrength monster versions where we get really mad!!! GRRR!!"
What happened to being ninjas?

I always thought that was very Hulk-ish of them, and very unnecessary. What really helped killed those last two seasons though, was Dregg. He was a typical cardboard cutout villain with no life of his own. He really reminded me of something from a bad 60's sci-fi B movie. In short, his presence helped make the show boring beyond belief. I mean, if they wanted to make the show "darker", that's fine. But then, stick to Krang and Shredder - they would have sufficed as villains, considering the fact they finally got their balls back in Season 8.

that was the point.........and they even said that in a few episodes....I think it was raph that said it...
I love aliens I love mung, dregg, and titanus(sp) and his hench mutants...and I don't care what anyone says I will love those villains to the end of time :P but I can agree with everyone I didn't like carter even though I'd have enjoyed a toy of him and the mutated tmnt...
