i was curious of this, will it be like the old tales? i thought it'd be like mirage was w/o Easamn and Laird, indivdual stories with different artists & writers(i think it'd be cool to see a tmnt story ot concerned w/ continuity)

All of the stories in the new Tales will fit into continuity by linking Volume 2 with Volume 4. We'll see side stories that will explain all the events that happened between those two volumes.
Tales will be done by different artists/writers, just like the older issues. However, Peter Laird will be overseeing the story for all issues. I believe he mentioned that in the letters section of one of the Volume 4 comics.

Ugh....
Still hate the character design for Splinter for that Tales issue. He looks more like something that should appear in Spawn comics. Some sort of demon rat/violator creature. Not everyone's favorite sensei. Blah.

Yeh.... he's a lil scary to look at. I like my version of Splinter better... *hugs Splinter* :D

yeah, it does look a little too stylized, his tmnt look pretty good though
stop complaining, besides he said he drew him differently in the book.

Hey. Don't tell us to stop complaining. We have a right to have an opinion on something. And in this case, I hate the look of Splinter. He's a rat, not a demon from hell.

The comic that he dies in, has been out 7 nearly 8 months. If you've not read the issue by now, that's not my fault. Splinter's my favorite TMNT character, and I'm honoring the death of a very beloved character to me. I have it in the signature on every board I'm on. Like it or lump it. :)
As for I'll read it anyway....no, I won't. I only own two issues of the Mirage Comics, cause I don't care for them. I'm not a fan of supporting the book, due to Laird's rude attitude, and the crappy art. Those issues: Volume 4 #10, with Splinter's death. And Volume 4 #11 with Splinter's funeral pyre. Other then that, I'll stick to Archie and Dreamwave. :)

alright, it's understandable if you don't like something like vol. 4(personally i think it's spectacular), but would you PLEASE show a little respect to laird.

Why? He never shows respect to fans. He's a pompus rude ass in his letters columns. I don't have to like or show respect for someone like that. It's my opinion, and I have a right to state it if I wish. :)

i dunno, i guess if we're not aloud to insult the old toon, that means there are certain things we shouldn't touch. and to bash a creator of the turtles just seems wrong to me, especially if you consider yourself such a turtle fan. it's flat out disrespectful. Pete's been busy as hell with the mirage series and advising the new toon, so if he seems short in his responses it's because he doesn't have time. He want's to keep on top of things with the new franchise, to keep the image as it should be. To be honest, i couldn't be more pleased with how things are with the TMNT. The toon's great, almost no complaints, and even the few i have aren't major. The new vol.4 comic series is great. Some feel it lacks in action, but they really make up in story, it's excellent. Having Laird in control this time around i think will give everyone the turtles they were meant tobe shown, and i for one am gracious.

Couldn't agree more. And Volume 4 and and upcoming Tales of the TMNT book, prove that he does care about his fans. Mirage does not make big profit out of those books, but I'd imagine the sells cover the printing costs. On top of that he spends his time consulting with the creators of the new series. I don't know any other creator of a franchice who would be this involved after 20 years of creation, so saying Laird does not care for his fans is total bull.
He respects the fans, but it's true he seems to lack the respect for people who constantly whine about the books. Hardly anyone complains about his work, the story, almost all complainers complain about Lawssons art. If someone would constantly bash something my friend does, I'm pretty sure I might not give polite ansers either.

again karpo, we see eye-to-eye, he's irritated by the fans who keep asking for krang and bebop and rocksteady. And i understand, just look at all the irritating posts on this forum going crazy over these characters' revival
and personally i like lawson's art

Well I don't remember him ever being rude to those who ask about R&B, he has just said that it's not going to happen. But he has been, and propably will be rude to whiners that can't get over Lawsson's art.

Lawson's art is awful. As for Laird, the old toon doesn't bash people. But he sure loves to. And the whoring out of the Segway in the back of Issue #11 was ridiculous. What was he looking for, a discount for hyping it up. Ridiculous. The guys a pompus windbag, and I don't have to respect someone who's treated fans like dirt in his letters page. If you like him and the Mirage books, cool. I'm happy for you. :)

no he hasn't been rude, in fact it's more patient than i'd be. i just imagine it gets to him. And people are really harsh on lawson, i think he's a great artist, not my personal favorite, but no real complaints, i like him.

dude the reason hes like that is people were being asses and bitch about the art. He wouldnt insult fans if they didnt start it. If fans have the right to saw awful things about the art , and peter. Why shouldnt laird have the right to say the same things to those people.
