I haven't seen any info for #140 yet so maybe? Although I thought you had seen something last month as per your comment in the April thread:

And just a heads up, hypered1, there are solicitations for #140, AG #8 and more floating around out there since last week. No cover images yet, though.

But I'm guessing that was a typo or something?

Yep. Idiot old me mistook #139 for #140. I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding.

The month off is unexpected. Campbell will be returning after, I assume?

With all the talk of founding a new clan, maybe this is when Bob is brought in. And hopefully Armaggon isn't a one-and-done in the Annual (assuming he/it is indeed in it) and can continue to menace Venus through her connection to Donnie.

I'm glad the Armaggedon game stuff will be over soon, hopefully it has a proper conclusion with Rat King being defeated instead of him just getting away again. It's time to wrap up the Patheon arc for good.

I'm still skeptical of this comic's ability to maintain any sort of interesting story after wrapping up the Pantheon. If you thought the quality took a nosedive post #100, imagine how it will be once the main thing that's been driving the plot has been wrapped up. The Pantheon are highest up on the villain list. There's just nowhere to go but down, and deal with few loose ends. I'm worried it'll be like every good show that finished out its story and then got renewed for 2 more seasons.

I guess we'll see, but Rat King especially has been drawn out way too long. I swear if this arc ends with Rat King just giggling/laughing saying "the game will continue for another day!" like he did at the end of City at War with no closure, I'm going to shake my head and give up. Rat King has essentially been retreading himself for the last 50+ issues and it's going nowhere. He needs to be done away with in some form.

Besides that it does seem like the whole Utrom/Triceraton arc is going to be wrapped up. I assume both Krang and Ch'rell will either die or be imprisoned, and the remaining Utroms and Triceratons will finally make peace with each other and find separate alien planets to live on.

Oh believe me, I agree. I want an ending for this plotline as much as anyone, and would be pissed if they copped out and gave it anything other than a definitive conclusion. I'm just thinking that the comic in general would start to drag on once the Pantheon is over and done with. I'd rather the Pantheon be the end of it, and then maybe have some epilogue issues to give us the slow-down and emotional wrap-up before putting the comic to bed for good. But it seems the intention is to keep it going for antother 10 years, and I'm just not sure it can do that without taking a serious dive in quality and dragging on forever. I'd rather they just end it on a high note and be done.

I mean... there's always Lord Dregg or the Dragon Lord. I guess we really can't have Shredder return to being evil without ruining his entire redemption arc.

Maybe they can finally create a new villain to really shake things up. Someone completely new would be awesome because now we'd be going into unfamiliar territory. We wouldn't be able to predict things based on what we've seen before in previous comics, cartoons or movies.

Hell, maybe make one of the mutants be a human that developed a strong sense of self-loathing since he/she/it is a mutant that leads to them betraying the others, side with the new villain and blow up Mutant Town. Someone that literally lost everything in life due to becoming a 'monster'. Job, wife, kids, everything, forced to live among other 'monsters', some of them even being animals that mutated instead of the other way around. Maybe with the promise of being able to be a human again is so strong that this person is willing to sacrifice an entire town just for what this new bad guy is offering. Make it just 'phase one' of this new guy's plan to wipe out all mutants or whatever.

They could turn Null into a main villain finally rather than keeping her on the sidelines since her introduction over 6+ years ago now. They've done next to nothing with her.

Rat King, Krang/Ch'rell definitely need conclusions. Karai and Old Hob are likely becoming full fledged allies at this point, and the only other wild card is Baxter.

I'm not entirely sure but a couple of other things I've noticed are that it seems to be part of a multi-cover image (pretty sure that hand near the top is Dhalsim) and almost all of the characters shown are 'good-guys' (or at least lean that way) except for Leatherhead whose fate after Armageddon Game is still in question and Rocksteady who has never been on the TMNT's side - unless this comes about from Karai's current arrangement in the Alliance issues.

Either way this opens up a lot of questions.

What worrying is that now the turtles have to rely on others to defeat the main villains, or these villains accidentally killed themselves like disney villains.

Over the year the turtles have gain more training and experience and fight hordes of thugs, foot ninjas or aliens. They also build dojo and become teachers. But somehow, some frogs or low-tier mercenaries can kick their ass. Meanwhile, Karai can easily defeat the gang of four.

I just love that the turtles are STILL not allowed to actually kill anyone, and yet the weasles, who are suppposed to be literal CHILDREN, are allowed to explicitly plan out a murder, then maul the guy and slit his throat, fully on-page.

I know that he was derived from Ancient Chinese folklore. However, I took a deep dive into Wiki and it seems like the character of Chi-Tu was given a TMNT flavor to fit into its overarching plot otherwise it's taken from Chinese folklore.

And thanks, now I understand, that Chi-You is a representative of Chinese mythology in the Pantheon. Then the others must be:

Kitsune - Japan
Rat King - Western Europe
Manmoth - Northern Europe
Toad Baron - Greece (he wears a turkish fez, but both are much older than Turkey, even Byzantium. And he contested in drinking with Socrates in Greece)
Aka - Persia (Faravahar)

Gothano - North America (Cthulhu mythos)
