I quite like the art style for this one. Also reminded a little bit of the original April micro issue way back when.

Hmm... Quite an offhand way to (finally) firmly and fully establish Null's goals. But at least now we know for sure what they are.

The art is gorgeous! Very cartoony, in a good way.

We're anime now. Those are anime eyes on April.

This was really, really good! The art was outstanding and the writing... That ending... Damn! Talk about an alliance! The finale can't get here soon enough!

The anime art style got even more blatant as the comic went on, Null even did that fuming mad enlarged face. I'm surprised they went with an anime style for this, it's nice art but doesn't really fit IDW TMNT.

As I said before I am pretty sure Karai is sticking with her truce with the Turtles now, so she is officially an ally. With Casey, April, Alopex, Angel, Detective Lewis and Knight all working together it's unlikely for her to turn bad again. Also with Bludgeon saying he's done with fighting too. Karai no longer being a villain is long overdue.

I wish Koya would go rogue and get killed though. I know she is in that future timeline thing but that future doesn't have to be set in stone.

Unless, you know... Stockman tops April's offer and Karai changes sides at the end. That's the problem with mercenaries (OT but fingers crossed Wagner eventually turn on Putin).

Maybe but it would be too repetitive to see Karai and the Foot against the Turtles again, seems like the writers want to move on.

It seems they are wrapping up most of the plotlines going on with Rat King, Krang/Ch'rell and Karai and Old Hob. Null might wind up the main villain of the series after this arc.

Hard to sell Null as a big bad after she was schooled at least twice in the same issue by April of all people and not even her own minions respect her.

In the Archie series, Null constantly transformed when he did more evil acts, growing wings in his last appearance and eventually turning into a full devil. If they decide to go that route in IDW, I can see her becoming more menacing as time goes on.

For the most part Old Hob and Karai are pretty much allies now, as are their underlings. The preview to next months cover even shows Bebop/Rocksteady standing with the heroes. So all the previous mutants besides maybe Koya are basically not going to be villains anymore. And as I said, I really hope Rat King and Krang are wrapped up at the end of this story arc too.

They're most likely going to need a new main villain after Rat King and/or Krang are done, and Null has just been there waiting in the wings to take center stage.

I'm not saying you're wrong about Karai, just remember that Stockman was a close ally to the Turtles at one point too, and here we are.

Eh, I'd say was more reluctant than close when he did ally himself with the turtles.

True. But close in the sense that they heavily relied on his help for a decent stretch of time and let their guard down around him.

As an aside with the reveal of black April in the new movie trailer, this may be the last incarnation of a white and red-headed April for a long time. Enjoy it while it lasts.

In another thread, it was brought up how we didn't get to see any 2012 characters in the IDW series yet.

That snake girl is the closest to a Serpent Karai.

Funny though that they both have very pronounced and wide hips, which in the comic led to the snake girl getting stuck.

Looks like they corrected reading order, I still would prefer some additional changes, but it's definitely better now.

Karai seem to have no trouble recruit new allies. Even too easy to succeed. Except for Bludgeon and Venus, the others seem to have no idea of their own and only join with her blindly. Especially Alopex. She broke up with Raph because Raph agreed to join with Shredder, which made her feel betrayed. Now she's do exactly what she blamed Raph for. What should I say? What a hypocrite.

Kitsune should lose her divinity and become a common fox or mortal as punishment for all her crimes. It would be better if she died, because she deserves it.

Alopex is often the victim of plot contrivances to throw her around without any agency.

With just a teensy bit better writing, Karai could've leveraged the gravity of the current situation more clearly and emphatically to persuade even the most hesitant of uneasy allies to join up with her. Would've gone a long way to make the alliance more believable and build up the multiple existential threats they're all facing. Alas...

Considering her previous behavior. I really don't believe her speech about honor. Or should I say her code of honor is incomprehensible and contradictory. It's also weird that most of goodness characters never question her on this point.

She also just a fools obsessed with wanting some powerful but uncontrollable minions. Remember, Bebop and Rocksteady screwed up her negotiating plans, and she was even nearly killed by her own mutant babies.

Fish rots from the head. With a leader like her, it's no surprise that most of her minions are of the same kind. Natsu said how honor is important ot her, and we see how easily she betrayed her grandfather just because she think plan to ambush someone was dishonorable, and before that, she shoot Karai in the crowd and probably nearly hurt innocent people.
