Not much, but I always laugh when some random guy tries to make a new live action TMNT film project with actors and costumes and then either gives up along the way or never starts filming once they realize how expensive or time consuming it would be.

It's 110% capable of being an everyone property, so its always annoying to hear adult fans insist it. Despite them knowing perfectly well that it didn't start that way and that there are still things being produced that aren't for the kiddies or sometimes don't have to be. Going both ways is great, but in particular no one is allowed to want that in animation or live action for some reason.

I tend to picture these types as people with some 5-year-old who (the parent) can't deal with the idea of their kid simply having to just wait until they are a bit older to enjoy the occasional things that could be aimed at older audiences. Lil' Jimmy needs all the things right now, dammit. (No offense to any parents here... most of you aren't those sorts.)

Really? I only know of two. The one from that Scotty guy who wanted $40,000 to make a trailer or whatever, and that nutty Rise of the Ninja guy where it went from a movie with a title image to a graphic novel that didn't even come close to getting finished.

I cringe whenever I see fans (of any property) post obsessive messages on an actor/actress/other sort of artist's social media, and then tag every other actor/actress they can think of on the post.

It makes me afraid that the ones who do interact with fans are going to get scared away from doing so.

Obsession and/or reverence by TMNT fans about voice actors. It's bothered me since I was a kid. I get it, it's a huuuge craft and a talent. But TMNT fans uniquely seem to look at voice actors in the same light as if they really got in front of a camera and acted that part.

Well I guess there is the tendency for a lot of fans to obsess over certain FW era characters, not because of what they did in the show or the Archie comics, but they owned their toys. It's not totally harmful or anything but it's a little annoying because it's not really the character as presented that interest them, but whatever they made up about the character themselves, so really those characters shouldn't matter. And I know it's the toys rather than the show because the usual suspects include characters like Ace Duck and Pizza Face, those who either really minor or had no role to play at all.

For me, it’s the autistic insistence that EVERYTHING is a “reference” or an Easter egg. Just because you have an encyclopedic knowledge of TMNT doesn’t mean every little thing your brain is able to associate was done intentionally.

Arbitrary example: “When this character called someone a demon, it was clearly a reference to demon Shredder from season 5 of 4kids”. No it’s not lol.

Real life example that made me think of this: I was reading up on the Teenage Mecha Ninja Turtles short from 2017. Some fool on the wiki was trying to say since the red one was the leader, it was a reference to Rise. Even though that wasn’t even out until 2018

People who insist on pushing their head canon then get upset when others don't agree, even when disagreement is based on the other person/people going by actual canon.

Within that, the fact that self diagnosing with disorders/illness is "trendy" and they are busy diagnosing fictional characters, too, and will likewise get upset if you disagree. Disagree with them or their urge for old properties to be warped to suit THEIR tastes and you're just a no good, change hating, ablest boomer, aren't ya now.

Sure, we've long noted certain behavioral traits in the Turtles, but eesh... we weren't doing it for selfish personal validation like these nitwits now. :roll: Since when are people no longer capable of relating to characters without a character being exactly like them?

Had a longer rant on this but I'll spare you guys of that. :trazz: Tried my best to cut it down to fit the "mild annoyance" theme. Currently it's really a bit more than mild.

Even if Rise was being worked on at the time, I guess that person misses the fact that the short was created by people who had NOTHING to do with Rise. The Rise team would prob have had no reason to share that knowledge with anyone who has no involvement or no need to know.

True, I remember us all at least speculating that that's what those shorts were about. Maybe Rise was among them and the pitches that didn't 'win' got released as shorts?

Somewhere a while ago I saw mention of supposedly a demo or short that was used to pitch it and I guess sell it to those they wanted on the team. Maybe that was a part of those shorts? Whatever it was, it was supposedly the source of that low quality shot of Leo looking beat up sitting on Raph's shoulders that never turned up in the actual show.

Different context, but yeah, do the same with my mother, like she cemented one thing in her head and will never grasp and recall that it was this other thing. (Though in her case she doesn't like being "wrong," so that's always fun.)

For me it's fan insistence on every new show iteration needing to bring in Bebop and Rocksteady to be Shredder's main henchmutants. We've had some really awesome and interesting mutants show up, do we always need to have Bebop and Rocksteady?

TMNT didn't start out as a kiddy property so why does it have to remain as one? I think you're right on the fans who don't want their kids to have to wait, but I also think it's because they have to tell their kids 'No' and restrict them from something, acting like it's torture for the kids.

Hell they don't even have the engine in the same place, the Party Wagon is clearly a Volkswagen while the Turtle Van is some amalgamation of a 1970s American van.

Basically. Every once in a while I'll try and be at least open to something new coming up being great, though. Like, "IDW TMNT... hey, this isn't too bad, maybe in time they will... oh, nevermind." Or "Hmm... so they reshot a lot of TMNT 2014? Maybe they knew what they were doing? Maybe it... oh. Hmf." Or "Hey! Seth Rogen. Who knows, maybe this guy is like a huge covert TMNT fan and is going to... oh, no. No, there's no way."

I liked IDW up until the "Dark Leo" thing. That was just too dumb and turned me off the series.

I think I hung on a couple issues past that but yeah, that was my jumping off point for sure.

Sure it would have been more awesome if they actually used their weapons more during fights and maybe stabbed some of their enemies that weren't robots, but we all know they couldn't have gotten away with that in a kids show at that time. I stopped watching the show around 1995 and started watching it again around 2019 when I bought the dvds. I found the show really charming even as an adult. So many people around here act like the show was worthless or just downright awful. Some people think that anything after the 2nd season was terrible. I just don't understand the hate.
