I have not seen anything about it, but just now stumbled upon this. Out July 17th is a one-shot set in the Ronin verse titled The Lost Day. It appears to have been announced back in January, but we have just over a week until it's release. Use this thread upon release for discussion.

Hopefully there will be some real stakes in this special.

As you said, this was announced a while ago, I'm surprised you missed it.

I wonder if we’ll get more flashbacks in this issue. I’ve yet to see the turtles’ final battle with the original Shredder. What did he look like in the Ronin-verse? And just how arrogant and evil was he?

Good special issue. Although they still haven’t shown Oroku Saki yet. Hopefully we will see him in the Lost Years #5.

I was caught off guard by the 9/11 reference at the beginning. Given that Waltz is a veteran, I’m not surprised that he would remind people what a bunch of Islamic terrorists did to our country over twenty years ago, a subject wokies try to dodge or forget.

Just saying, if this were written by anyone other than Waltz, Casey Marie would’ve had a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend at the end. Campbell probably would’ve made her gf chunky too.

I'd think they'd avoid showing that kind of stuff. "This could be the future of ANY TMNT universe -- except Mirage!" seems to be kind of what they're going for.

Although in the main book, Waltz still make Old Hob a part of the good guy team, instead of being executed for his bio-terrorism.

What did I say that was wrong? At least I didn’t say it was a day when “some people did something,” as stated by Ilhan Omar, or when “airplanes took aim and brought down the World Trade Center”, as the New York Times tweeted on the 18th anniversary.

You want a quote to make you vomit?

You could have said, "I was caught off guard by the 9/11 reference at the beginning. Given that Waltz is a veteran, I’m not surprised that he would include it in April's backstory, as she lived through such a tragedy that affected all Americans, right before her eyes in her home city."

Listen, I'm not religious; having spent my teens trapped in Christianity, I have too many gripes with all religions including Islam, but your comment doesn't add to any discourse, all it does is spread hate and empower people to spread their hate through words or actions.

Judging by your second response, you seem to be doubling down on what could have been just an ignorant (not stupid, ignorant as just not thinking about what you're saying) original comment. That leads me to believe you say this stuff for shock value. I peeped some of your other posts on here and all of your comments are rife with alt-right keywords and dog whistles.

And I ain't watching that video. New York Post? I thought you people hate MSM?

They don't offend me personally, but I stopped ignoring people like this years ago. If we all ignore them they keep coming back. Call em out.

I'm sure there's not many kids on here, but given that it's a forum about cartoon animals, they'll show up. Their side supposedly wants to protect kids yet they spew idiotic hatred? Nah.

Over 50% of mass shootings aka terrorism over the last 50 years were committed by white people. 4% were middle eastern. I'm not demonizing white people, but her comment was clearly trying to demonize brown people.

“You could’ve said…” Could’ve, should’ve, would’ve, didn’t. Geez, you’re worse than my private Christian school teacher

Terrorists and extremists exist in all religions. I’m not gonna pretend that Islamic ones don’t exist so that I could be politically correct. One group of crazies doesn’t speak for an entire religion. And by the way, I applaud the Muslim parents who are taking a stand against the public schools that are trying to indoctrinate young children with woke ideology. (Although having their kids stomp on Pride flags is a bit extreme)

And I ain't watching that video

Yeah, good idea. It might trigger you even more and we can’t have that, can we?

I fail to see how it's "demonizing brown people" or "spreading hate" when the statement made was factually accurate. It WAS Islamic terrorists. And while the terrorists do not speak for the entire relgion, their holy texts DO just straight up say to go and kill non-muslims in several places. I'm sure not everyone believes that and I know not everyone practices that, but the fact is the text is there.

Furthermore, your statistic is so vague as to be meaningless. Even if that number is technically true (and I doubt it is), it doesn't take into account things like the ever changing definition of "mass shooting," the reasons and context of each shooting, and other factors like population proportions, among other things.

Not really a "call-out." Mostly a weak argument. Way to take a conversation about a TMNT comic and completely derail it regarding some nonsense offense and make discourse like this necessary.

I'm not sure how old you are, but I remember very clearly after 9/11 brown people - Muslims, and non-Muslims - being physically assaulted because of comments like yours. While you demonize Islamic extremism (which I do, too), you also applaud Islamic extremism of supporting homophobia.

Nobody says, remember Oklahoma City was bombed by that Christian terrorist? No one is asking you to pretend Islamic terrorism doesn't exist. We all know who did 9/11, but you're perpetuating violence against an already marginalized group of people. You're trash.

I didn't write a thesis on mass shootings, those numbers can be found easily by a Google search. And you're right, every Holy book across all religions command really fcked up stuff from their followers. I'm not one to defend any religion, but the ones practicing minding their own business are the ones that will end up getting hurt by people who think like her. My mom is zany with her religious ideals but she hasn't weaponized it, and most don't.

I'd love to talk about the book, but I'm also calling out people who add to the marginalization of others.

I agree that Jeff latched onto the wrong thing here.
Gal's statement wasn't ignorant because of the reference to Islam, it was ignorant because they claimed that the 'woke' left would ignore that 9-11 was committed by religious extremists.
Noone on either side would ever deny that fact but the left WILL more readily accept that those people are the minority of the religion that are that extreme, unlike the brain-dead righters who would happily paint the group as a whole that way without a second thought.

Didn’t I just say that stomping on Pride flags was a bit extreme? At least they didn’t take a dump on it like that one homeless guy did in New York, a black homeless guy at that, and they called for him to be charged with a hate crime.

And you most likely don’t even know what they’re teaching kids in these abysmal public schools. Even gay parents are speaking out against it, but they’re all just “homophobes” right?

We all know who did 9/11, but you're perpetuating violence against an already marginalized group of people. You're trash.

I'm sorry, but pointing out factual information is not perpetuating violence, nor is it marginalizing anyone. That's just nonsense. Skipping over the details and omitting the parts you don't like or want just creates the worse problem of forgetting history and censoring the unsavory bits until we're left with nothing but lies. It's a gradual process, mind you, but it starts with things like this. It's no more offensive to point out that 9/11 was perpetuated by Islamic terrorists than it is for you to point out that the Oklahoma bombing was done by someone claiming to be a Christian.

You know what's even worse, though? When in the absence of those, people make up their own religion and ideology, complete with its own form of popes and preachers and daily sermons. People have demonstrated over history that they have an inherent need for religion. Largely. And sadly, I'd say. It really disappointed me to see what happened to people throughout COVID.

I'm sure there's not many kids on here, but given that it's a forum about cartoon animals,

I’m talking about the PC people like Ilhan Omar and the people at The New York Times who walk on eggshells when it comes to talking about 9/11, but all they end up doing is insult the families of the fallen. They cry about righties not wanting the history of slavery and racism to be taught in schools, but then they try to suppress or twist certain facts of the tragedy because it could be too “insensitive”

Oh I’ve been called far worse things, like “c**t” and “r*tard”, by woke people, who, by the way, are among the most hateful fools in the world. And the worst thing a white dude in the South ever called me was “doll”.

And in regards to Lost Day, I really liked the fact that Waltz pointed out the dangers of a social credit system. Anyone who opposed Hiroto got punished financially, as they do in totalitarian countries

Comments don't assault people, people assault people.
Unfortunately the comments influence a percentage of people to take action against the perceived "ill" hence what did happen post 9/11. Islam terrorists, kill all the Muslims in revenge! Certainly assaults in New York went massively up based on the observations from a couple friends who worked there (one of them had left a job based in the Twin Towers literally a few months previously).

Cowabung-Gal

Let’s say a guy breaks into someone’s home, robs them, and finally murders them. The criminal happens to be black. Is me pointing out the criminal’s race calling for acts of revenge against all black people? Of course not. Maybe some racist redneck will use that excuse since he’s already looking for one, but people with common sense will know better than to take it out on the entire race.

A lot of prejudiced people took their anger out on Asians during the pandemic because of the origin of the virus. People took it out on Japanese-Americans during World War 2 because of Pearl Harbor. And yes, people took it out on Muslims and Arabs in the early 2000’s because of 9/11. Heck, people took it out on stingrays after Steve Irwin got killed by one; even animals aren’t safe. I can’t control what stupid people do. But I’m not gonna rewrite history to appease the pearl-clutching lefties, who won’t hesitate to stomp on one marginalized group to lift another in the name of intersectionality.

And the fact that you people are squawking, “You hate marginalized brown people and you’re hurting them with your words!” only proves my point that woke people hate facts that go against their “all-white-people-are-devils” narrative and will twists facts or outright censor them to be more PC.

Does Larry Silverstein exist in the Ronin-verse?

Yeah I remember that meme, fun times !

I just noticed the discourse launched by the Cowabunga genius who spoke about "wokism" as if it means what spin doctors want people to think it means lol

And saying that liberal or left people don't want to talk about islamic terrorism is the same as saying "I am a sheep that believes the propaganda of my own state, which is also doing terrorism, but it's okay because it's not in the name of the same religion".
Don't get me wrong, liberal politicians can also be f****** hypocrites lmao !

And religion is often an excuse for states or organizations, the real motive is power...
We don't need to throw under the bus muslims that lead normal lives, because then powerful and violent people will chose them as easy targets to blame for all the problems of society ^^

People like Trump and Musk are getting richer while the rest of the world is becoming harsher for everyone...

I know that in the US the cultural policy of freedom of speech is different, but in Europe, words are also considered as violence. And we consider that freedom is fake if some people are threatened in their lives...

So this came out the Training day 2026 special, it was pretty good for a one-shot. I liked that most of it focused on Mikey training Casey/April's daughter. And didn't have much focus on the bland 4 future Turtles. Art was nice.

There's also a 6 page preview to issue 21, and it shows Shinigami turning on Karai, and Shredder surprisingly appears to the Turtles/Splinter/Shen at the end. I wonder how the can have Shredder appear here while his mini-series is still going on another 6 issues at the same time.
