I hope Dr. Barlow gets killed off after this arc. Feels like a D-list villain left over from Rat King. Also to see Leatherhead freed of this mind control.

Everything involving Leatherhead was eerie as f*ck, I love it.

Sophie's writing can be good when reeled in. Less of Jennika and her pig lesbian friend snuggling on the couch together, and more creepy stuff with Leatherhead. I'm also glad Raphael being arrested wasn't dragged out, I thought he was going to stay in a jail cell for a few issues. Thank god that ended quickly.

It always felt like Sophie was on auto-pilot during the events leading up to the Venus issues (opinions aside, we all seem to agree there was a jump in quality.) it just felt like things were put on hold until Last Ronin finished in 10 months… which became 2 years later. One reason or another, IDW just seemed to drop the ball at the time.

My only gripe is it seems most of the mutant town characters will be sticking around:

Jennika
Sheena
Lita
The 3 Weasels
Mona Lisa
Carmen
Bob
Jay (that poison dart frog guy)

And we have Venus, now the Regenta, and Sally...who are basically the same "type" of characters even though they didn't originate in that arc.

The thing is the cops think she's just one of the people who got mutated from the bomb, So they don't really know who she really is, So she's going along with it.

I also love how Jennika is completely rubbing it in Raph's face about this being his first arrest.

I love the brother and sister dynamic between her and Raph.

Also I love that we finally get to see Donnie and Mona Lisa actually talking together again, Since they are both science geeks.

When Seri was on the phone talking to Mikey, and invited him to be with him at the beach, I knew that was a callback from the mirage comics.

I have zero doubts that it wouldn't be Raph's first arrest if he had lived in society as long as Jenny has.

I dunno, they appeared to know it's her though and she told Raph that she's not hiding that it's her.

Imo I think it's more likely that she's just done her time already and being with the TMNT has helped her choose a better path and avoid racking up any more warrants (and her change giving her identity cover until now). So far. That could change with the regular city police to hold them accountable now.

Mona and Donnie... who knows, maybe they'll rekindle what barely even was and that'll be another one. (Or at least make it clear she got over herself that he didn't start out human. Never cared for how they left that and then just dropped it all together like they never had a thing.)

Me too, been hoping they'll get back to that and deal with how it was left off when she tried to contact her parents before. Hard to believe her family would just stop caring and didn't take the time to think about it and feel like jerks for rejecting her, come on. (Though on her part it probably would have been best to write to them first or go for a regular call and explain before going full-on video call.)

"So... you're dating a turtle now?" They really could have some fun with that. Esp if they DO rekindle something and her parents ask about his background and regular human life pre-mutation. :tlol:

the oddest part to me was 3 mutant/aliens walking on the crowded beach in CA. Now, of course they'd have heard of the mutant bomb in California, but it's pretty unlikely they have any mutants out there just hanging out casually.
