First we had The Last Ronin, then The Last Ronin: The Lost Years (prequel series), now we have The Last Ronin 2 announced a sequel series:

Man, IDW is milking The Last Ronin for all its worth due to the surprise success of the original mini-series.
Looks good though.

Since Tom Waltz and Kevin Eastman are still the main writers, I’m actually quite optimistic about this sequel series

Well it's now focusing on the next generation of Turtles and not Michelangelo, so it'll remain to be seen if they can carry a story. I'm not really that interested in them but I guess for a 5-issue mini it should be fine. I'm just glad none of this is "canon" with either the Mirage or IDW Turtles, I don't want there to be a future gen of TMNT.

Well, The Lost Years was a prequel AND a sequel, so this was to be expected.

Judging by the price, I assume we are going back to the double size. Well, guess I’ll see you guys in 2 years

The first one sold like hotcakes. Of course. I'll read it, for sure.

If the Foot Clan and Oroku family members are still live and still the major villains. I hope this time we can see more scenes of how new turtles kill them all by their own hands. Karai was killed by her son and Hiroto accident blows himself up? It's so dumb and it kill hype.

I think it should be ok, but it's hard to imagine many surprises at this point. Looking forward to this and the plate of TMNT comics coming!

I wouldn't say they're milking it. It's a very good story and sells well. If it were neither of those and they kept putting it out just get chump change, then they'd be milking it.
That said, I am PUMPED to see these Turtles kick butt and take names!

I think that's what makes this so exciting, that anything can happen. There isn't 40 years of legacy holding them back from doing crazy things with these new characters. One doesn't have to be the hot head, one doesn't have to be the party dude - anything is possible!
Something happened with my orders to the original TLR book where I missed the final issue or maybe the last two or something like that. But at the end of the day I never even got to read the whole thing and fell off TLR wagon completely before the first series even wrapped up.
I think it's great though that there is at least some recurring TMNT content that everyone seems jazzed for. Maybe someday there will be a TLR Omni that collects all of these volumes and I'll go back to it then.

Sadly I don't have much of an interest in these new generation Turtles, I feel like The Last Ronin should of been one and done.

I don't really mind there being a next generation. You can tell that's where at least Kevin's head was at, too, back in the After the Bomb/Palladium stuff.

Good thing the main title is still going for you to read. I'm more excited about the new turtles than I have been for anything TMNT in a long time.

I still think Mikey should live and become Splinter.

Yeah, his death was lame as hell.

Well he did actually…in a summer short:

Huh. The human kids in this short kinda remind me of the new young turtles. Maybe this is where Tom Waltz got his inspiration for them.

Ah yes, the "Summer Shorts." You would have thought at least one of them might have accidentally been good, but alas.

They were all good Mr. Grumpy.

I don't know that I actually realized until now that a "next generation" of Turtles was something that the road of the Last Ronin story led to.

it was in the epilogue, and lost ronin: lost year shows them growing up interspliced with the last ronin's story.
