Okay, forgive my foggy memory, but I do recal an episode I saw once that involved these two imprisoning the Turtles in some sort of army base, and Wignut and Screwloose were like army genreals or something. Can someone please explain and possibly post a screengrab?[/i]

Ah yes! I forgot that one, and I think I remember why.. I do recall really disliking that episode, and I felt Archie comics did a much better job with the characters, inhabitants of a doomed planet that Krnag destroied! Here i felt they were pasted in to sell figures.

Sigh... if they only did an adaption of the comic instead, they really would have had one heck of an episode :tread:

Oh... forgot! Thanks for the pics, dude!

I barely remember them in an episode. Wingnut's a bat and Screwloose is a mosquito. I used to have the figures.

I think they looked much better like this:

The Screwloos looks like the Honey Nut Cheereos Bee with a beak in the cartoon

Screwloose looks very similar to Needle Nose. Is there a story behind this?

Not one of my favorite old cartoon eps. I found the episode to be rather boring and thought it had a stupid plot. I mean c'mon, robotic cockroaches?

Yeah... that's the only real beef I have with the old show. I mean, seriously, some episodes where they battle anyone besides Krang or Shredder (or any recurring characters) are hit or miss. I never really liked this one, and I'm none too fond of "Rebel without a Fin" either...

A lot of the times with these third string one shot mutants, they do a much better story of them with the Archie series (I especially like that they made Leatherhead a poor theif, who stays to wrestle on another planet, and not just some bad guy who wanst to make "Turtle Gumbo Pie!")

Rebel without a Fin is in my top 10 worst TMNT episode list, Artless is #1.

I thought the Wingnut episode was cool back in the day I saw it because I liked the action figures in the show. I'd like to see it again, its been ages. Now that I think about it, those two are probably my least favorite characters and the action figure doesn't do much for me either. That one was really obscure when I collected Turtles anyhow...

Its a shame that the old series never done any episodes featuring some of those mutant characters, Mona Lisa only apeared on one episode and thats was it, Then Mondo Gecked at least apeared on two episodes and that was it as well, As for other characters, They never showed up in later episodes, One problem I had with the original series was that there was no continuity, Something that the new series has, Each episode of the old series was always new and it never continues where the other left off.

The probly forgot about all of the bad guys. And ya each story was new. It was never part 1 or 2 or 3. But the new toon does that wich is really cool. The old toon acts like that stuff from the previes episdoe never happend. Exapt with he easter episdoes. and the usagi episdoes.

I always wondered why WN & SL were in the good guys section of the toys on the back parts of the turtles figures packs?

same deal with muckman and joe eyeball?
well Muck man and joe eyeball were bad at first in there episode...but later befriended the tmnt learning that shredder did that to them.....
some info for you also reguarding the toys they were at first given the foot logo on there box but it was later taken off and they had no side.
in the figure line they take no side but they were put onto the bad guys side I guess because they wanted it to look even on both sides or something.

yeah, Rebel without a Fin,, pretty boring ep, but I did like the part where Leo butted his nose up to Raph's and Raph grinned. Kind of a funny piece of animation in an otherwise badly animated ep. I didn't even make the connection between "Ray" and Ray Fillet until someone pointed it out to me years later. But even then, it's hard to make the connection. They're two different characters to me.
Zach and the Alien Invaders was ok, but kind of bored me too. Screwloose was abnormally huge. It had its funny parts though.

Yeah, they messed up those 2 horribly. Strange aliens taking over some kiddie camp....

I also think Don was rather rude to Mikey in that ep. Now I know Mikey wasn't the smartest of the group and occasionaly Raph takes some shots at that, but some of Don's remarks were just damned rude.

Rebel Without A Fin was lame yes, I couldn't believe how overall blah the dialogue and the animation was. In fact it seems alot of cartoon eps I've rewatched that are from around the early 90's period have not been good at all.

I liked "Zach and the Alien Invaders." I find myself going deeper into the stories now that I'm older. For example, after viewing this episode, I always wondered how Wingnut and Screwloose came to own a military school. What about all the insurance forms they had to sign, or the teachers/instructors they had to hire? How did they pay for the buildings? How did they keep people from snooping around? How did meetings with the parents of the students turn out? Didn't anyone ever do background checks on Wingnut and Screwloose when they were humans?

Sometimes the things that aren't explained are just as, if not more, intriguing then the actual story.

I did this with "Enter: The Shredder" as well. What happened to those other two punks that Shredder didn't turn into mutants? We never saw them again; did they just go back and hang out in their room? Did they get lost? How did Shredder come to employ a bunch of punks, anyway? And what were they all doing just hanging out? If I was being boarded up in a huge domed vehicle being driven underground and hosting alien brains, ninja masters, rock soldiers, and foot soldiers, I'd do some exploring. I'd play with some of those high-tech toys. I'd tinker with the portal and get previews of all the dimensions in our universe.

But that's just me. :)

As for "Rebel Without a Fin," I liked this episode, too. While the animation is absolutely atrocious, the story is okay. I, too, liked that part in the episode where Leonardo and Raphael almost came to blows. This was rarely done on the old show -- the writers always wanted to promote continuity among our heroes, if not the storylines -- and it definitely gets one's attention.

I also loved April's reference to herself as Tina Tuna. I never met a cliche or a pun I didn't love on the old show. The word-play was sensational for its time.

Well as far they knew at the time thet technodrome just had lots of robots and foot soldiers. Krang seemed to be in a secret room only Shredder had access too.

The very last time any of those punks appeared was in the 'Shredder gets Spilntered' ep in a short cameo of Shredder showing how his Retromutagen gun works. One of em was like a bat or something, and then turned back to normal.

Funny thing is whenever they showed Bebop and Rocksteady's old gang, none of those guys were there.
