I noticed nobody posted a thread on issue #144, So here it is, I thought the issue was pretty good, It was also the end of the Dr Barlow arc, And also I found out that Venus is a vegan.

Having the Turtles all go their separate ways at the end of this issue is weird given Sophie is still writing for another 5 issues. You'd think she'd wait till the end of issue 150 to do something like this. Because at this moment they'll all have to reunite in 5 issues time anyway.

It's funny because IDW's Venus has been pretty good so far, she's only been in a few issues and I like her a lot more than Jennika for the last 50+ issues. I never thought they could bring Venus back and have it be accepted, but so far it's worked.
Granted the fact that Jennika has been in the series is probably why I feel Venus is better so far, had Jennika never existed I might not be saying this. Granted it remains to be seen if they can keep her written well, but we'll see.

So Jennika doesn’t like vegans. I suddenly like her a little more.
Of course she’s a trained assassin, so she probably doesn’t care where her bacon comes from.
Oh, wait. Never mind.

It’s probably because her presence hasn’t been as obtrusive as Jennika’s.

I can't say much about Venus' personality, but I think her backstory and powers are wildly more interesting than where Jennika came from. Of course I'm biased since I still blame Jennika for stealing all of Alopex's story points as the "ex Foot ninja".

I'm taking a guess the next couple of issues are going to focus heavily on Donatello and setup things for the next writer.
What I liked about this issue is that it keeps giving me more reasons to like Dr. Barlow as a villain who just hates being a mutant, but I feel like the way his arc ended felt like it was straight out of the 1983's cartoon, lol. Wanna be human? Too bad, you're going to be a full on rat now. That pouty face of his was just chef's kiss. Extra bonus that Leatherhead is pretty much an ally of the turtles now.
In the end, though, there's not much to know about the future except what's up with Donnie, but looks like it's going to be a mini-series fiesta from this point on.
EDIT: Venus awakens vegan powers when.

The only problem is when they show the connection between Donnie and Venus. Mysticism and spiritual things become theirs. Leo stops learn astral projection and explore spirit world. This doesn't make sense and kind of ruin Leo's story development. Now, he just a teacher at the dojo.

Even tortoises are not completely herbivorous, especially those that living in rainforest will eat worms, snails and even baby birds.

Jennika was a boring character from the beginning, even her flashback stories are hollow. But after issue #100, she become even more unlikeable because she stole a lot of roles. She basically the female version of Raph, and the Turtles big sister, not to mention the writer ruined Casey just to give Jennika a pig girlfriend.

Maybe Campbell will push Leo x Koya quickly before #150. If the adult Lita future stuff sticks, Leo is destined for Koya.

What I'm also wondering is the whole Armaggon stuff going to be wrapped up by issue 150, or will it continue past it? Unlike the Patheon, I don't think Armaggon needs to go on 100+ issues with no end in sight. But as of now he's barely been introduced.
As of now it feels like Sophie is wrapping up most of her plots so the next writer from issue 151 onward has a mostly clean slate. And Tom Waltz wrapped up all the Patheon stuff as well, at least for now. Null is also captured in Dimension X, and we know Karai will have her own mini-series coming up. Leatherhead is an ally as well as most of the other mutants now as well as Old Hob. Baxter is being kept under close watch unless he steps out of line.
Pretty much the only loose ends is the Utroms/Triceratons are still on Earth together but with Krang/Ch'rell dead they should just find them both a new planet to relocate to.

She's probably going to focus the last few issues on each Turtle. Next issue will likely be Donnie-heavy, and the cover for 146 looks to be a Leo story. I'm really excited for her last few issues, they look like they'll be really fun! I'm also excited to see the direction the new writer goes after 150.

Finally got to read it. It was ok...much better then the mutant town arc.
It feels like there is some severe confusion with Venus. She was part of the punk frog group, so she should have *some* personality traits in common with them. However nothing would indicate that at all...she is vegan, it seems to me like she speaks like an old Asian mystic type, she has a control over mystic powers much better then everyone else. Yeah, she has a dragon shard but...the background and the character just don't click at all. I like her though, much better then Jennika. At least she has her own role to fill rather then overshadowing other peoples roles.

In the Venn diagram of Punks and Vegans, the center is probably more prominent than most other subcultures.

Valid to about the jennika, about Leo and koya I wished Sophie build that relationship up in the almost 3 years she's been writing. It was actually good
