Since a lot of people drifted from the series during Sophie's run, or even before that during Waltz run and lost interest, will you be giving the new relaunched #1 a try?

While it's still in the same IDW universe, Jason Aaron might take the series in a new and hopefully better direction. For anyone who dropped IDW before, do you intend to come back in?

Wait, so THAT is the ongoing? Then it continues into #5 and so on? I thought they were going to do a microseries for each of the four Turtles then start with the new #1. Because starting your new volume with 4 issues drawn by 4 different artists is a pretty weird way to start.

One thing I didn't like about the IDW series was the character design inconsistency, and it seems like it's gonna continue with the relaunch.

There's a tease in the upcoming FCBD issue, a 10-page prequel issue 'Alpha-#1' in June, then the four issues highlighting each turtle #1-#4 (July - October) and from Issue #5 (November) is the first arc proper being drawn by the person doing the Michelangelo issue.

There's also the Foot Clan mini-series by Mateus Santolouco and an upcoming Nightwatcher mini-series by Juni Ba which will also have a prequel in the FCBD issue.

It's too complicated already.

So we'll get an introduction to an introduction to a new series that's drawn by someone doing one of the introductions to a continuation of the series that's actually new?

Yeah I'll give it a try.

Yeah, I’ll definitely give it a few issues to see if it clicks. I stopped reading the ongoing consistently around issue #50 and checked in a few times after that briefly. It wasn’t able to hold my attention at that point.

It seems they are spending some money on this and I like what Aaron has said so far about his goal for the book. Hope it’s great.

I really hope they can rebuild momentum for this series. There's a lot of "baggage" form the previous run that will continue over, like the Utrom/Triceraton stuff on Burnow Island, Mutant Town is still there, all the 100+ supporting pointless characters IDW introduced, etc...but maybe they can start small and bring things back to basics.

From the sounds of things Jason Aaron prefers the Turtles being more gritty and street level, so hopefully that means less focus on mutants or aliens or sci-fi stuff for awhile. But given Karai has a truce with the Turtles now and has her own mini going on at the same time, I guess it won't involve the Foot at all.

It is not a new series because i must kill these turtles first and then the series will end and the next will start. It will continue from where it is now like it does each month with new issue. The new series will be the new tv series tales of the teenage mutant ninja turtles that will start later this year.

There's a new interview with Jason Aaron talking about the relaunch, And there's this part that made me happy about it, Its going to continue where 150 left off, They are not rebooting it or anything, Also all the characters like Jennika will not be sidelined.

The promotional art so far is focused really on the four Turtles who are the core, have been the core for 40 years of this franchise, but I know a lot of fans were immediately wondering, where's Jennika? Where are the other supporting characters? Can you say anything about what role those secondary characters are going to play in your run? Are they being sidelined a little bit to change the focus in the short term, or long term? Do you have plans?

Yeah, all I can say without giving everything away is, for Jennika in particular, there certainly are big plans, and I'll leave it up to IDW to reveal what those are as we go. In regard to the rest of the cast, certainly, there are plans for characters beyond just the four brothers, but coming out of the gate with this book, that's where the focus lies, really on exploring, again, who these guys are at this point in time, where they are in particular, which will be surprising in some cases in where that's going to lead things going forward. But like I said, I'm very excited about being a part of this universe that IDW has built with Sophie and Tom and everybody else who's worked on the series over the last several years, and none of that stuff is going away. None of those characters are going to be sidelined. That world will continue to stay rich and vibrant going forward.

Its going to continue where 150 left off

That's not what he said at all. It could be picking up a long time after it left off, and with absolutely none of the pre-existing plot threads.

They are not rebooting it or anything

We've already known that for weeks. Where have you been?

Also all the characters like Jennika will not be sidelined.

All he said is that there's big plans for Jennika (and plans for "some" others). But that doesn't even necessarily mean it'd be in his book. It could just be another Jennika mini-series down the line, from Sophie or somebody else.

What fans are wondering about Jennika and the other supporting characters? Whatchu talkin’ about, Jason? Most of the fans care more about the four main turtles, and maybe Alopex.

In that interview Jason keeps talking about how much he loves the original Mirage issues and wants to take the Turtles back to that tone, so it sounds good so far. Obviously being in the same continuity, you can't expect all the IDW characters like Jennika and everyone else to disappear completely. But it does sound like he's doing a back to basics approach. He keeps talking about the Turtles, the Foot Clan and Mirage, so it sounds like he knows what he's talking about.

I will probably buy it. Why stop now?
