So the Image TMNT comics unambigiously existed in the world of Savage Dragon and this recently happened in Savage Dragon:

So was he running around in the background all along?

The answer to your question is YES Mickey Mouse is part of the TMNT universe. I made a topic about this over a decade ago.

In 10 years every universe is going to have a Superman and a Batman if they want. we live in glorious times. No more ripoffs appearing in stories like nobody or Silver Sentry since they can use the real deal.
I'd rather not see Superman/Batman in TMNT ever. Not even a fan of superheroes in TMNT in general outside of Nobody

This is really interesting, also would be good if version of Mickey Mouse (also based on Steamboat Willie version because for now only that version is public domain) to appear in TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures comic book for 1 or more issues, it would be good. Also Sarah Myer who is one of artists for this comic draw something about this in her notebook, here is link: https://www.instagram.com/p/C23oZyEsilz/ so would be good if he appears in this comic, what do you guys think about this?

Maybe we will find out Mickey Mouse was a regular mouse mutated by the same ooze which mutated the turtles and Splinter. Or maybe a different kind of ooze, after all he and Splinter are very different despite starting as two very similar animals.

Yeah, what is your opinion about this drawing? I think it is really good and it could lead to a crossover, but if it really happens maybe Mickey Mouse will be from another universe and Donatello accidentally to bring him to 1987 Turtles universe, kind of like when he bring Usagi to their dimension, what do you think about this?

Maybe it turns out Kirby grew up with a guy named "Walt" who had his own magic crystal?

Not this one though:

Maybe, but Kirby is character from Mirage Comics and 2003 series but I wouldn't mind if they also adapt him in TMNT 1987 continuity as he is based on real person (I don't know what law says about adapting people from real world) but it would be good if they could adapt him in this continuity and also Walt, so what is your opinion if he is from another universe and by end of crossover they to return him to his universe because Donatello might figure out how to send characters from other universes back because in Usagi one shot that will come out in June they will finally send Usagi back home, I wouldn't mind if they also bring Steamboat Willie designs and versions of Minnie and Pete to be villain in this crossover, he would team up with Shredder, Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady that is my guess, Mickey and Minnie to be on Turtles side

Black Pete,T he Beegle boysScrooge, Donald Mickey and Daisy and all the other animals in their cities are all mutant animals created by Utroms and then they sent them to live in another planet. Taht why there are not humans there.

Maybe even before public domain becomes a thing I would like to see crossover between TMNT 1987 and Superman TAS in Saturday Morning Adventures comic book if it is possible because IDW and DC worked before on TMNT and Batman crossovers, what do you think about this?

The character is in the public domain, so anyone allowed to try to cross him over with something else.

Okay, would you also like to see crossover with Superman if they can make a deal with DC Comics? Just curious

Well, technically there is already a Superman/TMNT crossover in the Injustice games (really not a fan of Mortal Kombat or any games copying its gameplay by the way, but that doesn't really have much the inclusion of the Turtles of course) and Superman also doesn't have much time before he becomes public domain either.

Still, I wouldn't mind a dedicated crossover... But it does raise some questions about who or what the Silver Sentry is, considering he's basically TMNT's Superman.

Well Silver Sentry can be from TMNT universe but this is multiverse what I mean, so Superman can be from DC universe, also I was talking about TMNT 1987 to crossover with Superman in TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures comic if it can happen, by the way which version of Superman in your opinion could work with 1987 version of Turtles? Just curious, my guess is Superman TAS but I haven't seen much of that series

Truly, this is what the Public Domain was always for.

(Seriously though, so many of the uses of Mickey are things that would have been covered under parody, so I'm glad at least someone is using the character as a character).

Yeah, they shouldn't just use Mickey Mouse for horror movies they should also use it for stuff like this and I hope that he and versions based on Steamboat Willie appear in TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures comic somehow

Alright, but does Paramount dare to greenlight a project featuring Mickey Mouse? If you look at this Wikipedia page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Works_based_on_a_copyright-free_Mickey_Mouse

You can see that virtually every instance of people using Mickey Mouse outside of the Disney company are fairly minor entities, with Image being the largest company to use the character so far (unless you count that Adult Swim bumper of course). Granted, it's only been 83 days of this writing that Mickey Mouse has been public domain and actually making stuff takes time. Still, why do I get the vibe that larger companies don't like the idea of using Mickey Mouse because it "feels wrong" to them on the basis that big franchises aren't "supposed" to enter the public domain, even if the character really did enter the public domain and there aren't any consequences of using him anymore.

They could use him but I don't know if Paramount will because even though Mickey Mouse is now public domain they might still consider him as character from competition company because company that had rights to this version before entering public domain is Disney which is Nickelodeon competitor
