This is good pages, also it is good reference to turtle costumes in TMNT 1987 Return of the Shredder episode

Do you guys think this special will take place before Ogglympics arc?

It is also good how we will see Usagi returning home, something that didn't happen in cartoon, this is one of reasons I like this comic because it has more continuity and also finish some plot lines that aren't finished in cartoon

This is really good preview but why does Michelangelo sound surprised when Usagi said this? I am not sure why he sounds like that

Haha, love the little editor's note about Usagi's name in the FW show.

You are right, by the way we will see on June 12 what happens next and I think this comic will be really good

I have this coming in the mail, so I haven’t read it obviously, but it’s crazy there’s no discussion about this. This is the closest thing to an official conclusion that a 30+ year old loose plot thread is ever going to get.
What’s the consensus on this series? I was always a huge Burnham fan, but this title never grabbed me because it just didn’t jive with the FW show. Obviously it’s just its own continuity and they never should have advertised it as anything else, but do you guys think it stands on its own merit?

More Usagi is always a good thing! I guess I never felt that it was a loose plot point but it was nice to see the Turtles go to his world in this universe. It's certainly happened plenty of times in the other comic lines.
To me SMA fills the same gap as something like the Shredder's Revenge game - a faithful evolution with more than enough new parts to keep it fresh.

I just read it and really enjoy the issue. Gotta be honest, I haven't watch much of the 87 cartoon, didn't even new Usagi never returned to his home until I read this issue but I thnk it's really neat they concluded that in this comic.

Ehhh I mean yes and no. I mean, it can stand on its own merit, but it is assuming you've seen the old series to a tee. Characters like Usagi and Mr. Ogg return commenting on where they last left off in their last appearance on the show.
It does get confusing whenever the Turtles do reference some off-screen adventure that never happened in the show. Someone that hasn't seen every single episode and remember them vividly wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
At this point I'm expecting an issue where the Turtles actually do face the two-headed biker...

Great, review Coola. Thanks for sharing.
I just read this issue too, and thought it was great. I’ve now read this as well as 11-14 and I think they’ve hit a good stride and it feels more natural now. I also think the other two artists are better suited for this book than Schoening, which I know is insane to say. His run on Ghostbusters with Burnham and Delgado is one of the best comic series ever. He’s still great, I think I just don’t like how his turtles are straight out of season 1, when this is clearly season 7+.
