Doing another Raph solo story after the new #1 was a Raph solo story feels a bit excessive. But they basically said this is the new TMNT Universe miniseries, it's going to have two stories every issue for all characters.

Very good art and coloring!

The art is Vincenzo Federici for the main story and Mateus Santolouco for the Casey backup.

Nice to get actual confirmation that this series fills in the one year gap between issue 150 and issue 1 of the new volume.

Some might say a little too Raph.

These are going to be hard to collect in the hardcovers. Those collect stories chronologically but we have no idea how long Mutant Nation will go on for, and it'll probably go on through the new ongoing for at least a year. Yet all these stories are meant to take place between issue 150 and the new #1 to fill that year-long gap.

It's just the the two stories in the first four issues that are in the time skip as far as I know, so that'll take no more space than the first four issues of Universe did - 4 + 1 for the backup.

Finally had a chance to read this. Beefy issue with 30 pages of content and both stories nicely connect the old run, the new run and the foot clan mini.

This was a good issue, nice to have Tom Waltz back. I do like they addressed that timeline issue of the Turtles all being back at the farmhouse at the end of issue 150, and how Raph said Harold teleported them all there. I remember people bringing that up before how that didn't make sense because Casey was with them in #150 whereas he was still with Karai in the mini-series at that time. So now it makes sense.

Metalhead wanting to see Area 51 is a nice plotline I thought they forgot about. He asked Bishop way back like 70+ issues ago about seeing Area 51, I never thought they'd bring it up again. And of course Metalhead "survived" the death of Krang.

The second story was good too, I like how Karai is suspicious of Casey but not quite willing to turn on him yet. I guess that dragon god thing is going to start to corrupt her, so we'll see where it goes.

I don't think this is corruption because it was her voluntary choice. A leopard cannot change its spots.

Likewise, like how it's tying up some loose threads and was hoping this assorted bunch of comics would try to do that.

My only complaint... good god that black text on red is hard on the eyes for me and not easy to read.

Thank you for your return, Tom! You are IDW's TMNT. As long as you write it, this series lives and prospers! Love you for creating one of the three best iterations (IDW, 2003 and 2012) and making me dream! Chapeau!

Wishful thinking. He’s pretty much just watering a dead plant now.
