Hello all,

It's my first time posting here, so let me introduce myself. My name is Jeremy Colyer and I am co-owner of Xtreme Design FX, a costuming company located in South Carolina.

One of your members pointed me in the direction of this site to post pics of this mask. This is our new Casey Jones mask, made out of resin, with real leather straps.

How sturdy are they?

I'm a cosplayer and would love to have one for a con, how often do you put them up for sell?

(Oh, and the link tag is URL here, just a friendly note :) )

I will be placing it on our website soon, but if you are intersted, you can always email us. It is very sturdy. This mask is made out of multiple resin pours, which makes it stronger than fiberglass, due to the flex strength the mulptile layers gives it. You can drop it hard...it's not going to break.

Any chance of getting a vacuum-formed abs version, which would be considerably cheaper to produce? And would also be lighter and more like an actual hockey mask...

Resin has absolutely no appeal for me with an item like this. Star Wars blasters are resin, not masks.

I'm the person who won the ebay auction. Any chance of a pic of what the inside looks like?

Email me for pricing if you are interested in pricing info. You can email at [email protected]. We have no plans on making these out of ABS plastic. We prefer this method for this mask, and a number of other pieces we make. We find that we are able to capture much more detail through the use of resin then vacuum-formed plastic. We've never had a single complaint from customers who have received our resin masks.

At Dragon Con, in Atlanta, Georgia I met a FX creator who had a Deep-Eyes mask (Final Fantasy), created out of resin. Lightweight, accurate and highly detailed. I don't think he would have captured that look with ABS.

Our pricing on this mask reflects the sculpt time, materials (resin, silicone) leather straps, weathering on the mask and straps, and putting the piece together. I don't think our price reflects an inflated price based on material.

Here is a pic of our Jason Hockey mask...making it out of resin captures the fine detail that was put into the original sculpt.

I don't have any pics of the inside of the mask. It is going to be sent out on Monday so keep a look out for it!

Thanks everyone for your interest!
