I really respect getting stuff like this published and I hate to $#!( on it at all, but yeah - for some reason that cover comes off more like a one-off print-on-demand effort than it does a "real book".

But I'm sure it's great and I think it's really cool that Pixel Dan has found a small niche doing stuff like this. There are a few areas of the hobby I'd love to do it myself, but.... just have too much going on to deeply embrace it.

For sure. I LOVE the #1 pose. I can take or leave the photography, but the overall design is lacking pretty hard compared to something like Rad Plastic.

I like Dan's Youtube content, though. Fun guy!

It’s a shame the bootleg lines won’t be in here. Karate Turtles Master (bootleg Giant-Size Splinter) was amazing!

As much I love the cover to this book, it would have cooler if Dan re-did the 1990 movie poster with the soft heads. The movie is what sold the toys in 1990 and early 1991.

I wonder if this book will be sold at Barnes and Noble or B&N.com. I want more people to hear about this.

Real curious to know how in-depth that variant guide is. I know there were SO many running changes during the run (at one point, Playmates was swapping ooze colors on packaging art) - would love to see a preview of that.

No. It should be available in hardcover and ebook at Barnes and Noble next year or the years after like The Toys of He-Man and The Masters of the Universe has been.

Maybe this is rose-colored nostalgia speaking, but I seem to remember a time when people generally had no idea what was going to be available for purchase until, surprise, here it is, it's ready and you can buy it right now. And when the quantities of things were sufficient that everybody who wanted one got one.

Alas...now we are told about it 1-2 years in advance to gather "support" and then it's limited and/or ordering pipelines crash and/or only influencers end up getting it, for free (and scalpers).

I know many of you are excited to get your pre-ordered copy of my unofficial Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy guide. That level of support and confidence in what my team and I are making means so much to me.

So, I want to provide everyone with an update on when you'll be receiving your book. Unfortunately, we'll have a slight delay in the delivery. Our plan was to start shipping the book out in June. Pending we don't run into any more file adjustments, we plan to send everyone shipping quotes near the end of this year with the goal of shipping in December.

While working with the printer, we found that a large number of files needed adjustment to match the color output of the press. As we're opting to use a six color printing process, this adjustment ensures the best possible color balance for the images so that the bright colors on these toys will really pop off of the pages!

I want to share with you a few new pages from the book, including a first reveal of how vehicles will be presented! The Party Wagon gets four dedicated pages to truly show off just how special this iconic toy is. Plus, there's one bonus work-in-progress page from the 2nd volume that will be following the release of this book!

Quite a few of you missed out on the pre-order and have asked how to order the book. This book was made-to-order. But I WILL have some extra stock which we will make available for sale once we've shipped out all the pre-ordered books in December. Stay tuned!

Pixel Dan is definitely a He-Fan. It’ll be interesting to see how these books turn out. I hope he shows that a He-Fan can be a big Shellhead also.

I’m pretty excited for this. I used to kill a lot of time in the late 90’s/early 00’s going through the toy listings on the old Mirage site. This will be like a premium version of that experience.

I wonder how many of these he plans to make. I would definitely buy through 2009. As much as I loved the 2012 show, I never got into the toy line.

Pixel Dan’s books are usually on Amazon or at Barnes and Noble. You should have nothing to worry about.
