Hey I'm sure I'm chiming in about this months later then everyone else, but I guess I never have stumbled onto those pictures of the proposed WB TMNT show. Whats everyone's thoughts on it?
Personally, I think the Turtles look alright, but they almost look TOO much like the original few comics, which to me, isn't the best look for them.
I really like their Triceratons, but Shredder and the Mousers look terrible.
Its interesting that they were revamping the Mousers to be something totally different, which for the record their mouser is a rip-off of the 3rd form of the Tremors monsters as seen in the 2nd movie.
Baxter looks really wierd, and there seems to be a emphasis on new characters, it seems a LOT different then the more comic oriented FoxBox show.
April looks terrible, and whats with this Teen April?
Oh yea, The Shredder looks a lot like the TNM action figure, which is odd.
And whats up with both shows making the Foot Soldiers look less like ninjas and more like aliens? This seems very true in the drafts of the Foot for WB.
Any thoughts, comments or perhaps more knowledge about that proposed show......?

The new show was originally pitched be on WB, and these were the proposed designs.

WB has some good shows. Jackie Chan Adventures is on WB I think, and Smallville kicks ass.

Thank god we have this art for the new show instead of WB's. I have to agree with you guys about the shredder, the mousers, April Foot soldiers, Splinter, Baxter and the turtles hehe. I don't think i would've been into the new show, if the art was like this.
Baxter Looks like a Disco Grandpa', Splinter looks like he was poisened or something and Shredder, Well he looks like a Hippie with all those colours.
The turtles Look pretty, as said before, like in the old comics. But they are not innovative. I think the show is as good as it could ever be, and they should change Nothing.
Well that's of course just My opinion :D

The ones who did the WB designs for TMNT seem they like they didn't do a good job on creating a TMNT cartoon. Even I can draw better than those prototypes.
If those pics were in animation and on a public TV network then they would do just as awful as the NTNM.
But I'm just glad that the 4Kids production has the better stuff to create a great TMNT show.

The stuff really isn't drawn that bad, its the interpretations of a lot of people are bad. IE Shredder.
If thats what a suped up Shredder looks like, then we're in trouble.
Anyone else get the feeling WB was gonna make thier own Turtles show? I mean, that it would really stray from the comic oriented 4Kids show. Looks like Laird wouldn't have had near the "influence" he has on the current show, which could be why he went to Fox.
Besides, WB isn't a big cartoon channel. The stuff they show, is a plenty, but its not big ratings grabbers. Their advertising sucks too, Jackie Chan Adventures was dead in the water because of this, no matter how good or bad the toon was.
Luckily they got a big fanfare launch on FoxBox.

It's WB who decided not to do the show, and after that Mirage went to 4kids. Besides, without Laird's influence it could have turned something as childish as the old show.

Actually it doesn't go into the SPECIFICS on why WB & The Turtle team didn't work out the show. Obviously WB was interested, or they enver would have gotten that far.
My point was, WB clearly had ideas of their own, which could have turned Laird off to the whole thing.
Otherwise, he was clearly selling his cartoon off again much like before, which supposedly he is just so against.
I'd love to know the specifics of the proposed WB show and why it didn't go down, but we'd have to talk to someone from Mirage to find out for sure. Anything else is just speculation and is likely false.

They say WB "passed on the TMNT" so it implies they didn't want to do it. But of course it's possible that they wanted to do another kids comedy show, and Laird said no.

ya, it did look like a childesh toon if you look and it kind of. I am glad it turned out the way it did though.

It's good that Laird made sure that the cartoon won't end up being the same action as the Old TMNT or a TV show with low ratings like NTNM. I know a corny version of TMNT wouldn't get a chance.

I'm not saying it was bad, I'm just saying that it's good that the WB idea didn't went into production and then it would iend up being a flop.
I may not be able to see the old TMNt cartoons but I have nothing against the classic.
I didn't like these designs very much either. But I can assume the direction they were going to go in based on the designs, and it would have been much different than what we have now.
Its interesting that they were revamping the Mousers to be something totally different, which for the record their mouser is a rip-off of the 3rd form of the Tremors monsters as seen in the 2nd movie.
For the record, only two Graboid stages were shown in the second movie: Graboids, and Shriekers, which I assume you're talking about, since they do resemble them. The 3rd stage didn't show up until the third movie. *waits impatiently for the fourth movie*

Those movies are horrible. So is the TV show.
I liked the design of the Foot, I don't know why. Seems like they'd make a better figure than the new Foot...feet.......f....ggrrrr....

Dude, They are almost the same as the foot tech
If these had been the foot soldier/ninja in the new show, then i'd 'ave been crying at the moment. Actually, i think there's something on the way right now :(

WB was probly going to make it just like the old toon. Imaging the WB turtles in are new toon. Kind of funny if you ask me.

Ehh, not really. There are some similarities (the boots, the eyes, the 'button' on the chest) but overall I'd say the WB Foot are a strange blend of Alien Robot and Homeless Ninja. The Foot Tech Ninja look sleek and cool. So there's a difference. ;)

I kinda like some of the designs. I like the Variation of Shredder wearing the red and gold, personally. I also like Splinter and the TMNT. Casey and April on the other hand need ALOT of work.
I'm curious to know exactly what the show would have been like, but I'm glad to have the current series over it already

I know, aren't they? That's why I love 'em.

" I GOT A GOD DAMN PLAN!"
I like the Tremors Movies, and I did realize my mistake after posting it.
Tremors 1 is really pretty good.
Anywho.
