This may sound like a stupid question,

The word Cosmic comes from the word Cosmos, meaning space. In that case, does Techno Cosmic Reserch Institute have any ties to NASA/CCCP?

It's likely just meant to mean that the Utroms are from the cosmos/space.

What's CCCP?
The only thing I can think about is USSR, but that doesn't have much to do with space, does it?

CCCP is indeed the Russian Space Program. And it has a lot to do with Space. Since a Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was the first to orbit the earth. It was that very event, and the need to compete that led them to one-up the Russians with ever mission after that. And pushed JFK to pledge NASA would beat them in the race to the Moon. :)

Oh of course not, it was an elaborate hoax. Even though the hoax would have cost more then the actual mission to the moon. Let's ignore all the facts and evidence, because conspiracy theories are funner. :wink: :D
