Hold on to your shell, Jarrah.

I beleive the real question is "What did Power Rangers do to earn a gust apperance from the pile of crap that IS "Next Mutation?"

Was Venus apart of that crossover? I don't remember her being involved in that PR/TNM crossover.

If she wasn't, then it's kind of odd to not include one of the (if not the only) focus of TNM into the PR/TNM crossover.

Damn I missed it!

Oh well, not too upset. I kind of remember seeing the crossover before and wanting to throw stuff at the TV so maybe it's best!

No, the real question is, "How can you watch that crap?" The Power Rangers are the worst TV characters ever invented. They didn't appeal to me as a child and they sure as hell don't appeal to me now. When I find the dickhead who kept them on the air for this long I'll kick his ass.

The reason Power Rangers is still on is because they are still very popular plain and simple. 12 Seasons, $8 Billion in Merchandising, highest rated kids show in the history of telvision - just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's going to go away.
The only reason the Turtles were put on Power Rangers was to help out the dying Next Mutation which was never one of Fox Kids popular shows. There are loads of people like myself who love Power Rangers, if you can't see why it so great fine, there is no need to open the topic and start shouting abuse. You've already had a warning about this.

Actually, from what I understand The Next Mutation recieved #1 ratings.

If that were true surely they would've have put the Power Rangers on the "more popular" Next Mutation and not the other way around. Also why wasn't there a second season of The Next Mutation ? The original toon went for 10 seasons, the new toon is going for a 3rd and TNM was stuck with only one. Does anyone have any real evidence that The Next Mutation was the number 1 show ? :-?

Yes, TNM was one of the more popular shows on that line-up, beating Power Rangers. Which is one reason why they were cancelled. They were beating on Saban's "baby" so they had to go before PR lost too much ground. The crossover was done, I believe, after TNM was over.

So they cancelled TNM because it was to popular. Okay....
Do you have any ratings listings for the show ? I've look everywhere to find out the exact popularity of the show but haven't come across any firm ratings - although the idea that they were cancelled because they were the one number show is 'interesting'. :D

Well, think about it. Saban was having to share it's profits with Mirage for TNM. It was getting almost 100% of the profits for Power Rangers. If you have an ounce of common sense you'll get it. They could make more money with PR, so they kept that, and "got rid" of the competition.

That's the theory at least, and a fairly sound one.

Actually, they did have plans for a second season of The Next Mutation; here's how it was to play out, while Season 1 was to welcome Venus into the TMNT Universe, Season 2 was to mark the return of Casey Jones, Rat King, and of course Miss April O'Neil

They are the only confermed characters that were returning, but it was also supposed to bring back a few other old toon characters. The second Season was also to take the turtles in a new direction, by having Raphael move out of the lair and go it alone, a family member (Probably Splinter) killed off and the United States government declearing a hunt on the turtles,
