View Full Version : [Announcement] Possible forum downtime

Because of the DoS attack on our server (http://www.thetechnodrome.com/#newsitem1029733409,11114,), this site is running very low on available bandwidth (transfer). I'm not sure what happens when the site goes over the limit, but there's a possibility that the site could become inaccessible until September 1. In case that happens, I created a temporary message board (http://members5.boardhost.com/technodrometemp/) that everyone can post on until the site is available again. Be sure to bookmark the temporary board's URL so that you can still post messages if you can't access these forums. Please keep in mind, though, that the temporary board is only a 14-day trial board which will be deleted on September 5 by Boardhost, so if there are any posts there that you still want to be able to read after September 5, make sure you save them, because there's no way to transfer them back to here.

yeah i had to be on a different computer than mine for like 3 monthes, and it was so annoying when i found and awesome site, and couldn't bookmark it, what i did was i emailed the link to myself

Guys, there's already a thread (several, actually...) dedicated to the Mil/Fil battle. Please try to keep that argument in those threads. Thanks. :)

The person who attacked the site wasn't very nice... I don't understand why people would waste their time doing something like that. I hope the Technodrome doesn't go over the bandwith limit...

But at least whoever it was that attacked the site will soon be without internet access, since I reported them to ntlworld (their ISP) and they replied saying that they were investigating the attack...
I hope the Technodrome doesn't go over the bandwith limit...

Don't worry about it, I got the new server already and I'm working on transferring the files over. There might be a few hours of downtime while I transfer the databases over (and while the domain name resolves to the new server), but the site probably won't run out of bandwidth because of the move.

We will switch as soon as I finish transferring the files over to the new server (probably in a few days). The only noticeable change will be that the site will probably load a little faster. :)

Since the site is now moved to the new server and is not in danger of running out of bandwidth anymore, this topic is no longer necessary as an announcement. I'm moving it back to the Announcements forum, and if anyone wants to discuss the new server, feel free to continue posting here.
