How did the tmnt act originally? Were they always serious all the time or did they crack the occasional joke? Did they eat pizza, or other food besides pizza? How was Mikey, I heard he's alot more serious in the comics and not quite the 'goofy one' like in the cartoons. I know Raph acts like he does in the movie, but even in the movie he was crackin some jokes here and there. Is he like that in the comics or 100% bad-ass?

Well they are much more serious than in any other incarnation, and while Michelangelo isn't a goofy, he is light hearted, doing practical jokes and such.

There is no pizza, surfer talk, or wise cracking Raph, in the Mirage comics. The attitudes of the new show most accurately reflect their comic counterparts. Although in the new show Don is more of a technogeek and Mikey is more of a jokester.

Well, see... E&L created the comic in my HOMETOWN. and my oldest brother was a friend of a friend of their's... :o :D

Well, what he told me... and this shocked me.... was that originally, they were a bunch of pot-smoking, foul-mouthed troublemakers. They had to clean it up before they even published the comic!!! :o

hmm ok. I read an interview with Peter Laird. The interviewer actually asked him if they smoked anything or took drugs hehe. Peter answered no. But he could be lying, I don't know

Actually, the Michelangelo in the new show is only vaguely similar to his Mirage counterpart.

Truth be told, Mike never has been "truthfully" portrayed in any non-Mirage medium. Ironic as this may be, the later Archie issues actually got his character closer than any TV series has.

Yeah, you can, remarkably easily. My brother and I do it all the time while playing video games. We're currently evolving the adventures of "Superdude" who is made of Jello. We have other stuff, but it escapes my mind at the moment.

I understand what you mean, I just find it to hard to believe that it wasn't a drug induced idea...

After a long day of work way back in 1983, Kevin and Peter were relaxing at Peter's house watching television and sketching. "We got real punchy!" Peter explains, and they started drawing cartoons to amuse themselves. At the time Peter was doing editorial illustration and advertising art with some success while Kevin was working as a short-order cook and drawing comics in his spare time. As the evening evolved, Kevin eventually drew a bipedal turtle with nunchuks strapped to his arms and called it a "Ninja Turtle". Peter, aware of a nifty idea when he saw one, asked "Why not a teenage mutant ninja turtle?" and thus the legend was born.[/url]

In the Mirage comics the turtles killed people and were not afraid to get blood on their weapons. Oh, and you know how in the old toon they'd trip up an enemy than throw a pizza in his face? None of that in Mirage.
