So did anyone like the TMNT Image Series?

I thought it was ok. I thought they went a little overboard disfiguring the turtles, but what are you gonna do.........

I would've liked to see a real conclusion to the series, though . When the comic was canned they didn't really wrap much up.

I have all but one or two issues. I like it a fair amount. Its more "adult", and as anyone who knows me knows... :evilgrin:

Thats about the only way I can put it. I thought the story was good, but because of all the damage done to the turtles, all I could think when reading through them was "Gee, this is an interesting alternate universe they've got going here!"

I couldn't see it as the same universe as the Mirage stuff, it just didn't fit in my mind.

I have quite a few Image comics and I like them. Not as much as I like the Mirage series, but the story was interesting. I didn't dislike the disfigurement, and I think it was an entertaining take on the Turtles' in the least. I'm more into psychological scarring, but physical is good too.

I really enjoyed Mike getting to have a girlfriend. Plus, Splinter as a rabid bat did have its amusing moments.

I think the series went way overboard on the mutilations. But I must say I thought Raph's scar, followed by his transition into the new Shredder was pretty cool. I thought it fit his personality.

And it was very fitting, seeing as how Raph was the one who kinda inspired the creation of the Foot Clan in the first place. And with the scar, several future Mirage works have shown him with an eyepatch anyway.

Well, I think it was just a few individual art pieces by Mirage artists. But it seems weird that you'd see him with an eye patch in more than one universe, almost like it's supposed to happen.

I think the comic had potential with the plot they started with... but then it reached a point where they started throwing in this concept and that adventrue... it just got to crazy to enjoy. Like they just scratched the surface barely, then jumped over to another thing before I got to understand why this first event was happening.

I was okay with Don's change to a cyborg, and the violent way he acted, that made sense since he had this evil computer controlling his actions. Like a case of Dr. Jeckal/Mr. Hyde. And Raph scar... that was okay too, seen we saw future views of him with a patch. Then Mike getting some.. *lol*

But then seeing Splinter as a mug ugly bat, and then all the illogical crap on Leo getting shot and his hand bit off... and he hardly acts like nothings wrong.. oh pleeease! The plot went from barely okay to worse toward the end, and I stopped buying like after the 18th issue.

As of yesterday I now have the entire 23 issue Image run. I've decided that my favorite aspect of it is Splinter (when he's not a giant bat). He was well drawn, and had a great sense of humor! They even have him watching South Park! I also absolutely loved when Casey walked in on him sitting atop a hog-tied Pimiko. :o

Oroku Pimiko spent most of the Image series trying to kill the Turtles and Splinter. They did a team up in the last issue, but we don't know what happened after that.

I don't know if it was ever released for the NES, but I do know that it was originally an arcade game. Check out www.gamefaqs.com and do a search for Popeye. I bet it'll be in there somewhere. :)

The comic store that I found has absolutely no TMNT Image comics. :mad: I really want to get the first issue and the fourth one, so I can find out what happens next.
