Wha was the "Next Mutation" trying to follow?

Was it following the movie or the cartoon?
1. I think i can remeber Splinter's ear cut, (movie wise)
2. I beleive the were living in the suway (movie wise)
3. Shredder was in it. (cartoon wise)

This also goes for the Coming Out Of Their Shells?

3. Shredder mentioned Krang, and Technodrome.

Yeah thats what I kinda think. I think it was based a little off the toon and a little off the movie. it borrowed a little from each.

My view was that Mirage thought, 'Yeah, live action TMNT show would work. It did for the movies..... Who'll make it though?'

It was definitly meant as a collaberation of sorts, though I wouldn't say it had anything to do with the singing tour, otherwise April would be written in and the TMNT would have those denim jackets and microphones.

I agree with you, although I didn't really like this show so I only saw a few episodes.

I agree TNM was based off of toon and movie-verse. Then it sprung in it's own direction with it's own new characters like, Bonesteel, Vam Mi, and Dr. Quease. That's what the new FoxBox toon has done too, taken the tradional story, and added some new things, and ppl like Hun, and the U-trom guardians (the Matrix-looking guy, don't think he was in the orig. comics).

For the Tour, I think that's more toon-verse since Shredder and Krang were in it. Tho alittle hint of the movie was in there when Splinter said something like, "When my master Yoshi found me in the sewers", indicating that he himself was not Yoshi, as in the toon.

I don't think the Utroms even needed protection in the comics. They didn't even know Shredder in the series (atleast not on a personal level)

As for the singing tour, I too noticed that they threw in the origin where Splinter was always a rat. I guess they figured since kids had seen the movie, they figured it would be okay to take that route.
