Questions about TMNT Vol. 2.

I never actually read Vol. 2, but I browsed through the previews on www.ninjaturtles.com and on the last issue, the Turtles are apparently decimated in an explosion in Nevada. Then Leo, I believe, wakes up and asks Casey about Nevada, and Casey tells him they never went to Nevada. Was the explosion and everything else in Nevada just a dream? If someone could fill me in, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

When I read those issues, I thought they survived and the guy with "special abilities" erased their memory of it.

The "official" answer is something along the lines of "Who knows??"
