Old news.
I'm still not happy with Upper Deck making the game. And I REALLY dislike having commons, then rare, super rare, and ultra rare. Why not common, uncommon, rare, and holo?
I will give the game a chance though. Hopefully I'll have a job by the end of the month, so I'll plan on buying a box of this, along with a starter set.

I've never played a TCG but I'm excited about this. I'm curious about the game play and I can't wait to start collecting these.

I've never played a TCG but I'm excited about this. I'm curious about the game play and I can't wait to start collecting these. I'm sad you're starting out with an Upper Deck game. The rule book will confuse everyone, i'm sure. I normally avoid anything with the Upper Deck stamp on it like it's the plauge... but the TMNT over ride that ;).
The wrapper art does look nice though, I'll give them that. Maybe they'll pull it off...
Any news what size the cards are? Standard size or mini-yugioh-size?

Wizards of the Coast shoulda done 'em.
Any company that isn't named Upper Deck should have done the game ;). Hell, DART Flip Cards pulled off a better TCG than Upper Deck...
It won't be all bad though.. that other game U.D. makes was made by Konami... not saying it's a good game, but it might sell enough to get the other expansions at least.
Does anyone know where to find more images of the cards? I'd like to see bigger versions with the text so I can start figuring out how to play.

Old news, but thanks for the pic of the booster pack. I wish we could get an exact release date for these, and even a list of cards. I plan on buying atleast one box and the starter set when they first come out.

Thats a pic of the Donatello card... it's a rather large jpg though, so be warned.
I'm not likeing this whole flipping buisness...
Oh, and the boxes... 75 bucks for 24 packs of 9 cards. Bit pricey, considering most games have 36 packs of 11-15 cards for the same price.

-_-. Great. And I bet for tournaments they'll only allow their special mini sized sleves (something I'll just happen to over look if they even have tournaments for this game).
Oh well, those gold sleves I got for Yugioh can get some use now  .

For I have a large collection of pokemon cards and I hardly play the card game, some reason cards are more fun collecting them, for me.
But a card game of TMNT sounds good.
The turtles are actully going to be printed on training cards.

Yes, it's from Yugioh.
I hope they don't make any stupid cards like that, but I have a feeling they will.
Maybe they'll have a 'retro' set with old toon characters and things? What do you guys think about that?

Well, from what I can tell from the Donatello caro, it seems as if the characters will all be in your deck, and they act a bit like monsters in ygo, wich is bad, because that means there arn't any support cards (land, energy, ect).
For those of you that haven't play a TCG before, this is bad because there's one less element on the board to be able to controll. Magic woulden't be nearly as fun if there wasn't land, and Pokemon would be extremely boring with out energy, and the cards that controll both. It also makes it hard to make diffrent style of decks, because you'll basicly come across full offensive ones or full defenseive ones, none that can do both efficently (this is a problem in yugioh that Konami has yet to fix).

Like I've said, I'm going to give it a try, but I'm not expecting it to be a decent game. If I wasn't a fan of the TMNT, I pry woulden't even consider playing the game.
Who knows? Maybe it'll be a good game.
Have any more pictures surfaced? And any set release date for the cards? I'd like to get the starter set soon >_<.

I've played magic for almost 10 years now and I can tell already that this game isn't going to last long. It may make it to fad status, but that is all. Magic is the only CCG that has endured the passing of time.

Actually, Pokemon's doing really well too... going on to it's 8th year in Japan, and 6th here in the states. And if I remember right, people though that'd be a fad too...
Granted, that was from Nintendo (and Wizards here in the states), and this is from Konami and Upper Deck... And seeing as Yugioh has dropped REALLY fast now, I'm not expecting much. After all, Upper Deck makes a plastic key game where you break the other persons key... and lets not forgeting Sponge Bob, or Bionical ;).
But like I've said before I'm going to give the game a try... see if it's any good. If it is, I'll support it here, and if it's not, Upper Deck gets complaint mail :).

02-04-2004, 07:11 PM
Gwgtrunks, Pokemon is no longer being made by Wizards. Nintendo is now doing all of it. Wizards got pissed about that. Really pissed. In terms of sale numbers, Pokemon has dropped drastically, going from the number one selling card game three years ago to now being 7th I believe.
For me, its a matter of money. Magic is cardboard crack and I spend more than enough on it. I don't need another addiction.
Kid Icarus
02-04-2004, 07:54 PM
I'm well aware that Pokemon is ran by Nintendo now, as it has been in Japan for years, because I'm a tournament organizer for it. And actually, I know that it's sales went up for a while after Wizards lost the liscense.
The point I was trying to make with my post is that Upper Deck has NO idea how to handle card games. And before you say something, yes, Nintendo does. It started out as a card company, and it's first product was called "Porno Funda", although there arn't any images of it on the net that I'm aware of.
I'm well aware of Magics addictive qualities ;). I played through the Invasion block, and the two after that... but I can't remember their name. But after that it just got boring for me, so I quit.
