What was Shredder thinking?

What was Shredder thinking when he tried to kill Yoshi with mutagen? Has mutagen been known to kill people or something? Why didn't he just set a bomb down there or something? Maybe it was more lethal than it seemed in the old toon. Or maybe Krang fed him some "mutagen lies". After all, Shredder seems really surprised to learn that the mutagen didn't kill Yoshi.

He musta suspected a possibility that the radiation from the ooze would have killed Yoshi, suffered from radiation sickness. Next time use plutonium.

The whole rat thing doesn't fit, sure he cared for the rats but he touched the Turtles right before he mutated. Why didn't he turn into a turtle? Oh shoot, its totally moot at this point...I just always wonder about that error.

I notice we don't see exactly how Shredder cross mutates Bebop and Rocksteady...I mean yeah, he musta had them get into contact with the animals and then poured some mutagen on them...ewww. :goofygri:

He probably just brought in the rhino and the warthog and rubbed them on Bebop and Rocksteady... It woulda been funny if Shredder woulda accidentally touched some mutagen. He coulda been Bebop-Shredder...

Yeah, that is one of the most notable errors in the first episode...really is quite noticeable. :goofygri:

He was probably hoping the mutagen was unstable since at the time it probably hadn't had a thorough test. If it was unstable there's a good chance something bad would've happend to Splinter.

I dunno... The real question is how come Wile E. Coyote/ Mad Agents/Boris Badenov try to kill the Road Runner/Inspector Gadget/Bullwinkle with bombs, and when they backfire they themselves don't die. If it doesn't kill them, what makes them think it will kill the good guy?

Good point...I had forgotten that at that point Shredder probably did not know all the properties of the mutagen. Okay...now it makes good enough sense to me.

Quite possibly! :D Sake is good to get drunk on. I love it hot! Would be kind of funny though if he were a fan of girly mixed drinks. :evilgrin:
