The Lair playset has been enhanced for Autumn ‘04 with a brand new sewer- trap accessory with Turtle Ooze and exclusive action figure!
Makes me glad I didn't buy this yet, since whatever the exclusive figure is, I'm sure I'll want it.

Well back in the day they felt the need to release every kind of idea with the Turtles...probably the ones that disgusted me the most were the pizza throwing ones. Also those Toon Turtle figs kinda annoyed me too...
I guess this time around won't be any different....

I didn't even notice that the first time... oh well, I guess we just have to accept that Playmates is going to be making more inaccurate Turtle variants. If they're anything like the Xtreme Sports ones, I won't be buying them.

Glad I didn't buy the Lair yet either. This is probably the Exclusive Splinter figure that was supposed to be included the first time around. As for the Scuba Turtles, remember there is an upcoming episode where they face garbageman again underwater. :)

Also was thinking about the so-called Space Hoppin' figures, that the official website showed recently. The one that wasn't series accurate. I had a theory that they could have been Scuba Turtles, from the Season 2 Garbageman Episode. And now I have a feeling that that theory is correct. Since I have major doubts that they ditched the toon accurate Triceraton space suit Space Turtles. :)

Defiently the WORST TMNT figures Playmates made HAND DOWN was the Bodacious Bithday Turtles. POINTLESS! Lets hope history dosent repeat itself. I wanna see this new sewer! I'm excited.

They also had over 30 inch tall turtles... the giant turtles they have out now are what 12 inches tall, seems more then just a little bit bigger...

We've seen the 30" tall ones, last year. Heh. They're pretty neat, but the 12" ones cost enough now. I can imagine the price of the 30" ones. :)

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I really hope so, because I was really disappointed when it appeared that the Space Hoppin' Turtles had changed. As long as they make new series accurate Turtles variants, I'll buy them.
I guess the question now is, how does this affect the 2004 list we've all seen? The Scuba Turtles weren't on there, and now we know they're coming out this year.

I think it's safe to say that the old list is useless. Hopefully we will get a new one soon.

We should hopefully get one at Toy Fair. Or atleast some idea. Ugh, it seems so far away. :(

Wow, I'm really excited that they are making a new pizza thrower. That was one of my favorite toys from the original line, and I still have it. Besides adding the track to the bottom of it, the top part actually looks quite similar. In fact there exactly the same!

I think that the new Sewer Lid Thrower is ridiculous. 1st of all: it's not in the new show
2nd of all: it reminds you a bit too much of the vintage turtles. the least they could do was to make it a little darker green, instead of that light green color

I did read on someone's post that we will see a Baxter Figure sometime this year. When, I dunno.
I work at Toys R us, and I noticed in the clearance isle something quite interesting. It was a "Chicken Run Chicken Pie thrower." Playmates did Chicken Run toys. Guess they thought if they painted the Pizza thrower they could make a few more bucks. I almost bought it just because of nostalgia.
*Sigh* I just bought the turtle lair. It was one of the JC Penney exclusives with the Shell Cycle, Leo, and Shredder. It was only 10.00...
But I would still have held off if I knew.
What I want to see is if Playmates is going to release April in her old yellow jumpsuit. That was the coolest episode of the new TMNT ever.
Hm, not me. I bought two of 'em; planning to keep one around to do something with later on. They come with Leo and Shredder, so $10 is worth the price of the figures alone. And at least from the images, that Shredder figure looks a little shinier than the individually sold one...so it may be sort of "exclusive" in its own right, eh?
You still can't beat 2 figs and a sewer for $10. (And it comes with the cycle too, right?)
Zachatello00
02-19-2004, 10:55 AM
Yeah, it does come with the cycle too. My reason for holding off is that I have Leo, Shredder, and I got the cycle for Christmas. But, I guess the price isn't beatable, heh heh.
Yeah, mine just came today~
I've been mucking around with it for the past couple of hours, taking lots of photos and so -- gonna make a big SC feature out of it. It's great 'cause the instructions don't include all of the steps, nor do they mention that you need the strength of God to assemble the blasted thing...

Yeah, ain't that just wonderful? Wait 'til you get it together, then try and fold it up...
That wasn't too bad, but I'm scared of what will happen when I try to unfold the damned thing again. I like having this second Shredder around, though, and comparing the new Leonardo to the old TMNT figs. He is bigger!

So is the lair Shredder any different than the one you can just buy at Toys R Us? I haven't gotten mine in the mail yet, so I'm not sure. Either way, I don't have one. I just have Armorized Shredder. Had to get the one where you could pretend Leo's decapitating him all over again.

Not that I could tell. I didn't do a direct comparison of the two but I believe it is the same as the original carded Shredder without the extra weapons.

Without the extra weapons? Mine came with a ton of weapons... I'd get the original out to do a comparison, but I've already stacked the MOC figs up high in my closet and I'd have to risk death to get him back down!

Dude, that pic was totally sweet. Thanks! I gotta get ahold of that game. You can get it on ebay for like four hundred or something. It's gotta be worth it. Heck, I've spent probably at least that much in quarters. Well, maybe not quite four hundred, but, you know.
What the shell? I only remember there being two...
Oh, and Zach, you can probably find the MAME arcade rom for download somewhere. Just run a search! :)

If the additions to the upcoming turtle lair(mainly the exlusive figure) are worth it, I might buy a second. Has anyone opened two Lairs and set them up together?

It comes with all the weapons that the regular Lair comes with, but not the extra weapons that come with the single carded figures like Leo's suction cups. Actually I don't recall seeing any of the weapons from the carded versions of Leo and Shredder inside. But it has been a while since I looked.

2 Unarmed figures, that sucks. Sounds like Ebay stuff to me. Oh well, I already have leo, and like I said, the armorized Shredder. I do have a Shredder Moc as well.
I don't know how to run stuff like MAME, but my buddy and I are looking for one. He's a lot smarter computer wise than I am. Thanks for the tip, dude!

Mine came with Leo's suction cups! Seriously, mine came with a boatload of weapons...there are everything from swashbuckling swords to THE SWORD(S) OF TENGU to Leo's suction cups to a stray pair of nunchuks. Why are there nunchuks? Neither Shredder nor Leo use 'em. I dunno! I think Splinta will like 'em.

Cool man! I can't wait for this baby to come! You can always use spare nunchucks. I love the way they have improved them from last time, my "string" always broke on Old Mikey's weapons.

Does it come with extra sais? I lost one of my three pairs...
Nope, no sais. Lotsa swords though! There are three pairs of 'em -- you've got Leo's swords, two larger matching swords, and two swashbucklers (one's longer than the other). And you've got the old hook that came with the Storage Shell Turtles and the fist dagger that was released with the first. Not sure if those came with the original Leo or not, but you get pretty much everything that came with Leo and Shredder plus a lot of extras. I took pics of all of the weapons that came with it, so if there's some interest maybe I'll post 'em or something.
