This is kind of old news here in Milwaukee, but I want to find out if this has happened anywhere else yet. The TMNT figs have gone from $4.77 a piece, to about $5.88! That really sucks. Although I haven't paid that much for a figure yet because I got the whole Fightin' Gear line before the price hike.

The 4.77 was a sale price for the holidays.

Aye. And $5.88 is still the lowest price I know of for the TMNT figures. :)

Yep, I noticed the Turtles had gone up a dollar more. Kinda ticked me off. I didn't mind paying $5 but $6 is steep on my budget. Man, the old ones used to be like what $4?! Oh well....

On the bright side, I noticed the toy aisle in Wal-Mart was full of Turtle stuff...it was a beautiful sight to see! :D

They haven't really gone up, just the sale for the holidays finally ended and they went back to the everyday low price. $5.88, IMHO, is a very good price for the figures that Playmates gives us.

Especially when you see the prices for Mattel's MOTU and Batman, lines that are dieing for not getting right what Playmates did with the TMNT.

You'll find a major lack of Secondary characters, availablity, and listening to the collectors from Mattel and in a smaller way, Toybiz. :)

you hit the nail on the head. He-Man died because every case was 6 figures: 3 He-Man variant figures, 2 of Secondary Figure A and 1 of Secondary Figure B. Then to "correct" the ratios, they'd release the case again with Secondary Bx2, Secondary Ax2 and 3 He-Man Variant. They'd do the same with the bad guys. It was ridicuous! You had to literally swip the cases off the truck or order them from a vendor to ensure you got every figure.

Is it a good thing for the Turtles that the prices went back to normal or not?

You think THAT's Bad... Target had the toys on clearance for a week, lowering them down to 4.88 or so... then a week later, they were 6 bucks (not even 5.88). Maybe they just raised the prices because it was after the holidays.

And all they had were Fighting Gear Turtles, April, and Huns left on the rack. No Armor Shredder...

Everything goes on sale right after Christmas. This is so that when people return all their gifts, if they don't have a receipt the store doesn't have to give them the regular price of the item, but instead the sale price.

I know it's bad for our personal pockets, but I was wondering if it will help the Turtle industry.

Man in the UK the cheapest you can probably get one is £6 which is about $9...but then I think a dollar relative to your country's prices would be the same as the pound

Toys R Us in NY sells TMNT for $4.59. I checked them out this weekend, and was gonna snag a Fighting gear donny, but got a game instead.

I mean it was on sale for a Solid WEEK! Just one week... and all they had were Caseys and Aprils (I have them already, otherwise I would have taken advantage of the offer)

But then again... It's only a dollar price hike... it adds up sure, but at least it's not comic book store mark up (9 bucks... eek! No wonder they have so many left over!)
