Well who do you think the strongest out of all the different series (not including Next Mutation or Super Shredder)???

what about movie shedder, I'd say super shedder is the strongest

Oh yes, suuuuuuuuure, the movie Shredder was killed by a harbour falling on him, how "strong" is that?

A tie between MIRAGE Shredder and New Ninja Turtles cartoon Shredder

Old toon Shredder was weird. He was really strong but was sometimes beaten like an idiot. Nevertheless I chose him since I never saw Shredder 2k3.

Shredder from the 2k3 series is the best ninja obviously but all he is inside is an utrom. He could easily be defeated without his suit of armor but overall he's probably the strongest. The old cartoon Shredder was a good ninja it was just that the writers always had the turtles beat him.

Coola Yagami

Yeah, in the early eps he could take on all 4 tmnt and win. later any random turtle could defeat him...

old toon shredder possesed great strength too bad teh writers didnt let him use it
in some episodes i lifts bebop in one hand and rocksteady in the other and he throws stuff that looks really heavy around like it weighs nothing so i vote for old toon. Hes really strong, too bad we wont se him use it much...

the new toon, because he has a robotical body, and the others are just human

It is not very easy to compare those Shredders! Don't forget that the new Saki san is not a human... we don't know exactly what he is... The new toon shred is the strongest of course... But I also think that the old toon Saki is one of the best... he is very strong for the human, you know what I mean

The strength of any character is obviously entirely dependant on the plot the writers create for him. If they made the TMNT 2003 Shredder run away screaming in horror every time he saw the turtles, nobody would think he's so "strong" despite his armour and whatnot. Considering pure potential and even some specific achievements, I'd say the old cartoon Shredder was the strongest.

I thought the mirage shredder was the strongest character. I really liked the shredder in Zulli's comics. (Although not part of the cont.)

Actually, I'd have to say the New toon Shredder for this one. Original Shredder was human, and even his worm colony "clone" didn't have superhuman strength. Of course, it depends how you look at things. What makes new toon Shredder strong is the armor, without it he is pretty vulnerable.

Funny... some wrickety old fishing wharf collapsed on him and killed him, but having 10,000 pounds of pressure applied to his head didn't even phase him.

When he actually stayed and fought, like in the Shrinking Turtles one, he really kicked some ass. Too bad they usually had him run away, like when he jumped on Krangs robots back after it had shrunk back down and they flew underground... that was disappointing...

Point 1) The subway lair is exactly the same as it was in the movies.

Point 2) There are no more mutagen canisters left... Dr. Perry retrieved the last one.

Point 3) Splinter's left ear was cut.

Point 4) Shredder's exact quote before Venus attacked him, "After I'm done with you freeks, I'll find your furry rat friend--- and slice off his other ear"

I voted for the Mirage comic Shredder. Here's why:

Yes, the old toon Shredder was relentless and kept coming. But he was a goofball, and more than that -- he was a coward.

The new toon Shredder is, admittedly, pretty badass -- but he's also not really doing his fighting; he's essentially just controlling a mecha. And he's immortal, or something like it.

People keep talking about how the comic Shredder was actually killed. Yes, that's true. The comic Shredder was the only one of the Shredders in the poll (thus far) to actually be killed.

It takes strength to die.

Each Shredder has different backgrounds and henchmen.

Once an arch villian of the TMNT is always the arch villian of TMNT. :)

Regardless of him being an Utrom, I'd say the Shredder from the new toon. He's the living embodiment of badass - and even without the suit I think he could still be pretty meanacing.

He's one awesome utrom. :tlove:

Jarvas
02-21-2004, 07:58 PM
Will someone please explain to me why the new Shredder is a damn Utrom? Shredder was always my favorite character, and here I am thinking the new version of Shredder was human like every other time, and now I find out the best looking one isn't even a human at all.

Why is this?

Karpo_007

Why? Perhaps the writers wanted to have a totally original plot twist.

The new 2k3 Shredder is far more ruthless - probably because they can write him like that now - whereas in the old show it was a lot more jokey. Even as a kid I was always disappointed that Shredder was so easily defeated all the time.

I'd have to say new toon Shredder, he's clearly a ninja master is spirit, you don't see the other Oots doing the things he does, he's just as much a Ninja as the comic Shredd, and he's perhaps the most evil of them all.

An despite the cartoon being more kid friendly then the comics of original movie, the new Shredd is (IMO) the scariest.

new toon shredder is brave even as a utrom.
Remember Raph said...."he's not so tough let's squish 'em" and then the utrom tin grin latched on to his face and taunted him..." ican't hear u....what did u say?"
In my book that makes for a strong villian....if he survu\ived the tcri explosion.....which i'd bet he did....if i was a beting man
i was kinda dissapointed when i learned that technaly new shredder was krang/shredder kinda cross but u know waht ever works...it's a twist
I just wish we'd see a new toon bebop and rocksteady....that'd rock!!!!

Ay, the original Mirage shredder is undoubtably my favorite. While he doesn't have as Karpo said, superhuman strength. Those comics are (relatively) more feisable in therms of fights than the new and old shows.

The old show shredder was inconsistently strong, sometimes he could beat all four turtles, no problem, but other times just one turtle would be enough to defeat him.

I thought the whole Utrom/Shredder thing might grow on me, but it really hasn't. It may be a decisive new direction for the show, but by no means does that mean I have to like that direction. Regardless, this Shredder when he smacks somene typically sends them back about 50 feet, which is just ridiculous of course, but would technically make him the strongest of these three. However his strength is all mechanical, which is simply pretty lame.

Jester
02-26-2004, 08:15 AM
True...the new shredder does have the most strength...but is that really the true matter of descussion...seems like we're saying who'd win in a fight the old toon, new toon, comic, or movie shredder??
and my money'd be on utrom shred head

and hey....noone's given me ananswer to the NM vs movie thing.,...is it supposed to take place between movies....or did ole tin grin just de-mutate??

Based on setting, I suppose it takes place after the movie. I figured that "Super Shredder" wasn't Shredder at all, but a Foot lackey mutated to battle the Turtles. See, I always wondered why it took the Turtles and Splinter, and Tokka and Rahzar, hours, if not days to mutate, yet it only took Shredder five minutes.

I know I'm looking too far into this, but the only way I can explain it is if the Super Shredder thing was pre-planned by Saki. Explains the "mutated armor" as well.

I agree it's an AU, but they do use the subway lair from the second and third movies. There are also hints, like Splinter's cut ear, that imply it takes place after the movies. It took that foundation, and created its own universe. I don't place it in the "movie universe", but the difference is almost like Archie and the old cartoon, only it went horribly worng! :o

Jester
02-27-2004, 07:39 AM
I can see that....it's just a bit weird...but hey the NM saki only appeared in a few eps right?? so he doesn't really matter...the big villian is the Dragon Lord anyway.
Oh and hey on a side note....what about Tony Day's Tin Skin?? he's pretty tough he's already taken out Casey....he's kinda a mix of old too and movie shredders....double the shredders double the toughness
And what about the shredder clones from the new show....which are from the comic...i've come to find out....it's kinda weird....the 4 armed one is pretty tough

You forgot movie Shredder and Archie Shredder.

However, I put the NT Shredder. Why? Because Ch'rell does NOT have the same human/animal limitations that a Homo sapiens Oroku Saki does. In the original Mirage comics, Shredder got beheaded and is dead for good. In the OT, Shredder is Krang's puppet in some ways- dunno if this also applies to Archie. In the movies, once Super Shredder died in the second movie, he's gone for good.

But Ch'rell lasts for many centuries terrorizing people. With the exosuit, he manages to fool everyone. Beheading him did not get rid of him. Only exiling him got rid of him- and who knows if he could escape and return? Not to mention how badly he injured the Turtles and Splinter at the end of Exodus. He gave Leo some nasty shell shock- and the worst damage was not to his shell.

So I vote for the 2k3 Shredder indeed.

For me, New Toon Shredder is automatically out of the running. Hiding behind a machine doesn't make you strong. It makes you weaker for having to rely on outside sources in order to do your dirty work. He may be cunning, but you could squash him like a cockroach with little effort.
I'm not familiar with Mirage Shredder, so I can't judge him fairly.
That just leaves old toon Shredder. At times he could seriously throw down, but other times he would run off like a frightened schoolgirl at the first hint of trouble. But at least he was able to stay alive, and use his own power to fight. He gets my vote.

Well the old toon Shredder was a moron for the most part and hardly ever beat the turtles so he loses.

The comic Shredder dies in the very first issue so for him to even be on the list is kinda sad. Yeah he comes back in two issues but he's made of worms so it's not really him.

The new toon Shredder wins. For one he's a Tengu demon so that would be why he's so powerful but even if you count the Utrom Shredder as that series Shredder he was way more menacing then any of the other Shredders.

triplexxx
07-04-2007, 09:34 PM
Shredder is strongest when he's not human. So I say the new series.
The turtles beat and killed him the very first time they met him in Mirage, and beat him countless times in the OT. The turtles do best against Shredder when he's human. Of course, in the movies, well, Shredder was able to take them pretty well in the one short battle he had with them, but had they been given more time to fight, they could've eventually finished him; that battle didn't last long enough for anyone to be taken down.
