View Full Version : Foot Soldier Armies
Hey, well I'm a GI JOE guy and army building is a big part of it. You know, getting as many as possible of the old figures and lining them up, or putting them in tanks and displaying them. I was wondering if army building is as prevalent with Ninja Turtle collecting as it is with joes.
Does anyone have big armies of foot soldiers? Maybe mousers? Or how about Krang’s guys from dimension X? Those are really the only armies I remember from watching the show when I was little. What were those dimension X guys called by the way?
Anyway, I would love to see some pictures if you do. Please post what you have.
Thanks
You're talking about Krang's Stone Warriors from Dimension X! Or Rock Soldiers or whatever you want to call them. :P
Regarding your question, it sounds like TMNTGal's building quite the collection of Foot Soldiers (not to speak for her, mind you), but I've only got one of the original purple grey 'n blue guys. I kinda wish I had another Foot Soldier from the movie or new series, though, as I imagine the poor guy gets pretty lonely. But he tags along with Traag and the Triceraton (only one of each of them, too), so I guess he's okay. :)
yea, ive also been tryin to build up on my Foots, and movie foots...not so much on the mouseres and rock soldiers, though just yesterday i did pick a General Tragg (rock soldier) at a garage sale....but to anser your question, i dont think its as prevalent as it might be in Joes...i think collectors go more for differnt variations of figs if anthing...most seem to go just for collecting at least one of every differnt of fig, maybe 2 to open one up and the other to dispaly...course this is all just my opinion, so i could be worng! :P

Antrax....those are cool. I especially like the new foot army because you gave them all different weapons. I would suggest putting them in all different poses and stuff, makes it interesting.
Wow Antrax...good job there...!!!! Very nice... :D

You've posted some pics of your collection in the ''collection photos'' topic, but obviously not all of it, If you could post all of your collection at once, cause that would be TOO AWESOME. I actually collect collection photos :-?

You have a lot of money.
I got most of them a few years ago when the I had no interests besides my sudden re-interest in TMNT so it was the only thing I spent my money on besides the nessessary things.
I especially like the new foot army because you gave them all different weapons. I would suggest putting them in all different poses and stuff
There was no way all of my foot soldiers were going to have the same weapons. I recently bought some more accessories and decided to give some of them to the foot clan. With the horrible articulation they were made with, there are very few poses they could make. I had them all in a box and took them out just for the pic, when I find time, I'm going to pose them one way or another on a set of cabinets I recently aquired.
If you could post all of your collection at once, cause that would be TOO AWESOME.
I'll try to get pics of the loose figures soon(out of the bags this time) and I'll post them on the "collection photos" topic.

Yeah, that's my attempt at a custom Tatsu. I made him using one of the Movie III Samurai Warhorse sets.

Seeing that Super Shredder brings back memories..I used to have him. I wonder if I can still get one somewhere. I still gotta get the new Shredder.
Super Shredder's pretty easy to come by on ebay -- unless you're gunning for the black one (which still won't cost you that much) you can pick up a loose one for a song. MOC probably won't run you more than $5, sans shipping, of course. Shipping can be a bitch.

I found the 1999 rerelease for 99 cents and bid on that one. Once I get him I'll worry about getting 2003 Shredder. I hear that one's becoming rare but that's ridiculous.
Yeah, a lot of the ebay auctions list it as "RARE!!!!" but I suspect that's just them trying to hock their wares at inflated prices. There don't seem to be as many Shredders around as some of the other figures, but there's never been a time I didn't go to the toy store and see a couple of 'em mixed in with the others.
Oh, and you're bidding way too soon! It's worked out for me pretty well the last few auctions I've been in, so I've gotta say -- sniping is the way to go.

SHOGUN TRICERATON
SHOGUN TRICERATON
The Dentable Destroyin' Dino Dynamo!
VITAL PREHISTORISTICS:
Triceraton's Metallized Shogun Accessories: Metallized Prehistoric-plated Battle Armor, Massive Mesozoic Mace, Katana-cuttin' Shogun Swords, Knobby-knuckled Notched Knife
Favorite Food: Lava
Favorite Rock: Lava
Favorite Lamp: Lava
This towerin' mega-beast of prehistory is more than just a power thumpin' thunder lizard - he's a Shogun Ninja nightmare! In the deadly distance, through the darkness o' time, the shadows cloak all things decent and unveil all that is brutal. Shogun Triceraton is one such brute you'll meet in the mud of midnight. Beware! For Triceraton trounces on anything that moves. And with his special metallized prehistoric-plated battle armor, he's prehistorically protected and preserved. He's also a highly trained predator of Turtles! Shogun Leo, Mike, Don and Raph may have met their match. For beyond the sheer titanic force of this dreaded dino, there waits a grim arsenal: like the massive Mesozoic mace - one swing and it'll knock any Shogun Ninja to Timbuktu (or Cleveland, depending on which is closer). And if the Shogun Turtles come back lookin' for more Mutant action, Triceraton can pull out his katana-cuttin' Shogun swords and knobby-knuckled notched knife and do some real sharp Shogun maneuvers! When Shogun Triceraton meets up with the rest of the Shogun Ninjas, all the Turtles can hope for is extinction - evolution style!

Oh, I don't mean that you won't win, I just mean it's probably better to hop in at the last second. Also, you'll feel really devious and cool for stealing the prize from the hands of some poor bidder at the very last second.

I've done it plenty of times. But I hate when it happens to me. I stalk BINs that aren't too expensive.
Coo'! :) But isn't it THE FUNNEST THING EVER?!?!?!? Oh, so evil. Shredder would be proud.

I'm a Joe fan too, and I tend to army build, but with the Foot Clan, I've been playing it small, probably because of their size.
At final count, I've got the Shredder, 4 Elite Guards, 2 Foot Tech Ninjas, 6 Foot Soldiers, and 6 Mousers.
Check em out here:
http://www.angelfire.com/ny3/straightedge/cobracomm.html
As you can see, my Turtles are lacking in numbers, so I'll be army building Utroms when they come out, and I'll probably load up on generic Triceratons to be lead by Commander Mozar (sp?)
There's no real Foot army builders coming out this year, so I'm just going to focus on the Mystics, and the Shredder clones on that front. *If* they do another foot soldier type, I'll probably get ten of them, and I'll grab a Mouser 6-pack or two. It'll be a nice display by year's end. Can't wait for 2005! I've got money waiting for a possible Zog, Rat King, Renet and Savanti Romero... God, Playmates, make those dreams come true!
Nice! YOU HAVE FOOT TECH NINJAS! TWO! So very few people have those.
I have one Foot Soldier. And he's the vintage robot kind! No wonder Shredder always loses... :(

Are the Foot Techs really that rare? I've seen a bunch of them!
My obsession right now is not having the same number of any type of troop. There *have* to be 4 Elite Guards, and I have only 6 Foot soldiers. So it was either limit myself to two, or go all out and get 8! But I'm not a big enough fan of the L-shaped arms to want that many. I guess if I had 2 more Foot soldiers, I'd have gotten for 6 Foot Techs... but it just wound up the way it did.
Ah well. Well see what the future holds. I'm still hoping Playmates will jump on the clear-variant Foot Tech. *That* I'd be down for.
You're about to get 1000 PMs to the effect of, "Please buy me a Foot Tech Ninja!" Just make sure you're really talking about them! I got him confused with the gunner...disappointed a lot of poor souls on here.

Well, before that happens, I will say that I haven't seen a non-turtle figure on the shelves by me in about a month. During the Christmas rush, they had a bunch of everyone (including actual FootTechs, I'm not the type to get them mixed up).
Now there's a couplle of the Wave 1 refreshers, a few of the junkyard armor, and I've seen 1 (count em) Casey Jones. And that's it.
A few weeks ago, I caught a shipment at a Manhattan TRU, found 3 Elite Guards, and an Armored Shredder.. went back two days later, and nadda. I got lucky I found what I did when I did. These waves (2, 3 and 4, plus the refrsher wave) have been out for months already. They're gonna be scarce very soon. Especially if the 8 figures pictured on ninjaturtles.com are a full wave, there won't be space for carryover figures!

I bought them to open. I had second thoughts for a few seconds but the only reason I bought them was to display them with the rest of my loose figures. Those extra 23 brings my regular new line Foot Soldier count to 30.
Yes I bought a case of them. A guy on another forum I trade on, had a case of 24 foot soldiers. He sold one to someone and has 23 left. I asked if they were still available and so I bought them. I had no idea they were releasing figures in cases of 24 until now. All my cases so far had been of 16 figures and they were a mixed assortment.
