Yeah, I own them too, at least copies of them, only because someone who made me tapes of old toon episodes snuck them on there.. I have watched them once and never again..They are definitely my least favorite, even less than movie 3.

The useless guy who has nothing to do in the show, I never understood why the Turtles accepted his joining them.. He's pathetic with his haircut and his necklace, and I will try not to comment his mutant form :|
Besides, he always tried to pretend to be intelligent, by working with Donatello or saying advanced words he couldn't understand the meaning..

Carter was a weird thing to add to the show. It was like they were showing that humans could be just as good as the turtles in ninjitsu. Although with the old toon I wish they had just kept it at semi-dark like they did in season 7. Season 7 had some really awesome episodes in it.

Which episodes do you refer to? I can recall Night of the Dark Turtle with evil Donatello but the others were not really "serious".

Wow, I'm shocked that everyone's rating the anime so lowly. How could you?!?!? It's bloody awesome. :)

It was semi-dark in the sense that they actually fought a lot of the time. Legend of Koji is a good example, the turtles under go a lot of serious combat and Donatello actually hits a few guys with his bo. Yet it still kept the old toon style. Shredder Triumphant the turtles actually had a serious fight with Shredder at the end. Shredder used all of his skills for the 1st time since The Incredible Shrinking Turtles and probably would've beaten the turtles if Donatello hadn't pulled the technodrome into dimension x. The turtles also did a lot of fighting to get out of Dimension X so they could stop Shredder. Then I take a look at White Belt, Black Heart. Only had one fight that involved the turtles but the turtles did use their ninja skills. The good part of the episode is it was an original plot for the most part. The turtles weren't so intent on stopping Shredder and Krang, they were more interested in capturing the Black Heart gang and getting Yoku for Master Mobo-san. Yes I won't deny that season 7 had some episodes like the previous seasons but most of them were actually a little serious.

Yes, season 7 is more serious and has much better fights but still has pretty much the same character desing.
