I thought the Fightin' Gear Turtles were great, except for those awful hands that don't seem to like holding onto their wepaons, so after some thinking, I came up with a solution. First thing I did was located a cheap lot of junker TMNT figures on Ebay. The next step was to pop the hands of the junkers, and put them on the Fightin' Gear figures. The best way to do it is, boil some water in an open pot, and hold the arm of the figure in there for about 7 seconds, until it becomes real bendy. Then you apply a bit of force, and the hands will pop right out. I did this for all 8 figures until I had 2 sets of handless turtles, and 8 sets of hands. To get the hands back in, you'll want to again dip the figure's arm into the water for about 7 seconds, then you should be able to pop the hand back in with little resistance.

When you're done, you got a Fightin' Gear Turtle who is able to hold onto his weapons during a battle.

Oh, and don't let the figure touch the sides of the hot pot, or it WILL melt.

Yeah, I'm a regular Martha Stewart :D

I also find that a takcle box is a great place to store unused weapons.

It's a good idea to clean out the fish guts first.

The Fightin Gear Figure got other Hands than the "normal" Turtles? :o

In which Way?

They have a hinge on the hand that allows it to open and close. In my opinion, it's a largely useless articulation and hurts the figure's ability to hold his weapons.

Hmm, I was looking for a place to ask a question, but I think the image in your post answered it! Still, I'll shoot -- I wanted to ask if the fighting gear Turtles' armor was removable. From the picture I'm guessing it is, but I figured I'd check. :)

Also, another quick question -- the new Mutatin' Turtles look like reissues of the older figs, but for some reason they look a tad bigger to me...is that the case or not? Thanks! :)

Yeah, the armor comes off.

Hm, that's pretty awesome. I'll definitely have to buy one now. The reason I've been staying the hell away from those is because I think the armor looks like crap...but it's suddenly better now that it's removable. These guys do look a little weird, though.

Nice work!

You can also buy those tiny thin clear elastic bands. Like the ones that come with Star Wars figures. You can find them at the dollar store. They also come in black.
