Hello people, I have a newbie question. Can you guys tell me who is the blue boss in the 2nd TMNT NES game? It's the level which started off with the background of a ruined Turtle Mobile thingy, and a few Mousers carrying Splinter away. The boss is this big blue robot, whom I saw in one of the TMNT episodes long ago. Can you guys identify this boss for me? Thanks !

I haven't played the game, but from what you describe, it sounds like Chrome Dome, Shredder's robot.

Granitor was the Stone Warrior with General Traag in 'Hot Rodding Teenager from Dimension X'. It was his sole appearance and he wasn't even named in the ep. In the arcade game thay called him Granitor, and in one of the TMNT comics that came with a tape, he was called Morph.

I agree it's Granitor, but what about the 3rd stage Boss? He looks like a rock singer wolf and has the device that Traag uses to control the weather in Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X .

Tora, an intergalactic bounter hunter from the planet Tragladoon. Has never known defeat, basically like a mutant polar bear. He was made up for the game by Konami/Ultra, he's not in the cartoon.

Well he was Tragg's second in command, and the only Rock Soldier to have an important role.

He's also the only stone warrior with his own distinct look.

I must be dense...that's the first time I ever noticed he was the only unique look. I need to play all those Turtle games...this thread has picqued my interest again.

Well all the other stone warriors on the show either looked like Traag, or like.. skinnier versions of him with an X on their chest.
Granitor was the only stone warrior that had that big build, small head and big nose.

Wow, I never knew that guy's name. I always just called him "the blue Stone Warrior guy with the bird face," or something along those lines.

"Granitor," eh? Hm! I'll have to remember that.

And, as already stated, Tora (the mutant polar bear) and Shogun (the samurai dude) were indeed created by Konami, exclusively for the NES version of this game.

Also, Baxter the Fly is in the NES version, whereas in the arcade you instead fight Bebop and Rocksteady together, at the end of that level.

Which makes even LESS sense because isn't Baxter the boss at the end of level 3? (In human form!)

lmao the NES instruction book tried to cover it up saying Baxter was human by day, fly at night.

But then again the instruction book made it seem like it was the actual sequel to the first NES game, with Shredder getting revenge after his defeat in TMNT1.

btw was the movie around the time TMNT2 Arcade Game was released? The instruction manual mentioned Shredder's defeat being like the movie, being thrown into a garbage truck and somehow surviving being mauled by it.

Unless I'm mistaken, the arcade game was released in '89, with the NES port arriving a year later in '90.

I forget what year the movie was released though...

The first TMNT movie was released in theatres 1989, with a home video release in 1990.

In the arcade Granitor was flashing all sorts of colors before he would finally go down, instead of just red like the others.
