The History of Krang's Past

Okay, everyone. The poll on this website prompts me to ask this question, and I think it is a good one to discuss.

We all know that Krang was banished from Dimension X, and that he lost his body when that happened. We know he was some kind of lord or ruler in Dimension X. But the things we don't know about him are far more intriguing:

What caused Krang to be banished?

How is it that his body was taken away, but he was still left with a head?

How did he and Shredder cross paths?

Whose Technodrome is it, really? In the early episodes, we see the insignia of the Foot Clan painted on the Technodrome. Not only that, but Shredder says, "They must not find my Technodrome!" Yet, later on, one always gets the impression that the Technodrome was Krang's. He says in episodes like "Wrath of the Rat King" that while he was on Earth, he had stripped the Technodrome clean of all its weapons.

If the Technodrome really is Krang's, are we supposed to believe that he was banished without his body but supplied with a heavily-armored battle machine instead? Does that make sense?

There are loads of questions we could ask about Krang's past which, unfortunately, we'll probably never have any answers for. But I think this could be an interesting topic to discuss.

i Think it jst means hi's robotic body.... utroms always use some sort of robotic body...

good question ntcf, well krang was a warlord in an android body like the one he gets later, he was banished for war crimes apperently. Krang and Shredder always fude about whos in charge, but Krang bassically gave Shredder the technodrome and all that technology so Shred-head would build him a body.

Well these questions are hard cause the show changed really much after the first season... Shredder became a klown and Krangs slave... So i think that is the point when technodrome became Krang's...

Krang had a robot body before he was banished? According to "Invasion of the Krangezoids" he had a real body. This is also brought up in "Blast from the Past."

weel i haven't watchedthe show so far yet... does they say he had a living body? If yes then he is not a real utrom...

Here is what I know about Krang, his body and shredder meeting. Krang was banished from dimension x and somehow has his body taken away. He had a monster like body as shown in invasion of the krangezoids. Now, Krang meets a man named krakus (the guy from Get Shredder!) and helps him design the technodrome. Krang then betrays him in someway... I can't remember exactly what, I need to watch get Shredder! again. Most likely Krang crosses Shredder cross paths and make the deal mentioned in Turtle Tracks. In order to get revenge on Hamato Yoshi he places the mutagen in the lair on the turtles which is how they are all created and such. Then to do the construction to the technodrome, Krang and Shredder design robots to match the look and fighting skills of the foot clan (foot soldiers) and have them rob scientific companies and other places with materials to complete the technodrome. This is all I can really make of Krang's past. I hope it helps.

That's interesting how you bring about Drakus (not Krakus, he was from another episode that season) into the equation. I had completely forgotten about him.

But about Krang having a real body . . . I believe he did, simply based on the fact that in episodes like "Blast from the Past" and "Invasion of the Krangezoids" it is mentioned that he had a body.

But this goes against what we saw in "The Four Musketurtles." In this episode, there is a flashback where some other Krang-like beings are experimenting with dimensional travel, and they are all in bubble walkers.

Of course, all this could be just a lapse in continuity. It wouldn't be the first time a TV show has made a mistake like this.

That's tru there is not much continuity in the cartoon... few exeptions tough...

Yeah, Splinter (Hamato Yoshi) is another guy whose backstory is not very-well developed. We learned a lot about him early on, but not much more beyond that.

I didn't liked blast from the past too much...they used stuff from other episodes...it seemed kinda boring to me :sweatdro: :oops:

I'm not really sure what the point of that episode was. It wasn't marking any special event or anything. It was episode 47. Maybe if it had been episode 50, a look-back-on-the-series kind of episode, it would have been better.

The animation for that episode wasn't very good either. But you do have to admit that Splinter's Cur-ly maneuver was pretty funny. Guess even the Foot Clan was a fan of the Three Stooges! :D

From what I understand, the Technodrome has always been Krang's. The only reason Krang gets the upper hand starting in season 2 is because with his new body, he is more powerful than Shredder.

Yeah, things make a bit more sense when you figure that the Technodrome is Krang's. It helps to remember, too, that Drakus helped him build it.

Now I am intrigued by how Shredder came into Krang's world, so to speak. Or, at least, how those two came together.

Edit: ohhhhh he appears in get shredder...i haven't watched episodes of the red-sky seasons because i didn't liked em so i didn't knew who he was...well...his voice reminded me of cobra commander of gi joe a bit :lol:
