TMNT TCG: Turtles Unleashed Checklist / Card Scans upon req.

Aight fellas...here it is. This is a work in progress for the new TCG line to create a checklist for it since there isnt a single one to be found. It is a work in progress as it is based on the cards I have. If you can post any others you have I will edit the checklist till it is complete.

From what I gather there is 100 cards total. There is a regular edition and then a foil version of the card. Super Rares are (1:6) packs and Ultra Rares are (1:12). Once I establish which cards have these I will list them two.

Finally figured out how the holofoil system works...
Of the 100 foils, 80 are common, these cards only have the picture of the card in foil form, not the border or the words. The 10 Super Rare cards have the entire picture and 90% of the border in holo form. So far it seems as if these 10 include the four turtles "forceful" attacks on the color that matches the turtle (ex: Leo - Blue - Shippu; Mike - Yellow - Fudo). The casey jones "this is my justice" scanned below is also one of these super rares. The ULTRA RARE are completely holofoil and have gold lettering for the name. These include the four turtles in their matching card border color (ex: Leo - blue, mike - yellow). So far the only other one I have of this style is "shredder" but I would imagine that Casey, April, Splinter and a few others have this treatment (up to 10).

Also if you would like a scan of any picture from a card just ask and I'll see what I can do.

In the initial press release they said this:

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Two-Player Starter Set will contain two card decks (40 cards each), one rule book, and one game mat, and the "Turtles Unleashed" booster pack will contain a total of nine cards. The entire set will consist of 55 Common Cards (8:1) and 100 Foil cards (1:1). Foils include 10 Super Rare cards (1:6) and 10 Ultra Rare cards (1:12).

That to me says that the breakdown goes like this:

55 Common Non-Foil Cards (8 Common Non-Foil Cards Per 1 Booster Pack)
80 Common Foil Cards (1 Common Foil Card Per 1 Booster Pack)
10 Super Rare Foil Cards (1 Super Rare Foil Card Per 6 Booster Packs)
10 Ultra Rare Foil Cards (1 Ultra Rare Foil Card Per 12 Booster Packs)

Where did you get the idea of there being a foil and non-foil version of each card? Or did you just guestimate based on how magic has been doing foils? Have you gotten any examples of a card in foil and non-foil form yet?

No...there are only 100 total cards...there is a 100 non foil and then 100 mirror image foil 80 of which are common foil, 10 of wich are super foil (1:6) and 10 which are ultra foil (1:12)

I have bought the started and between 25-30 packs of boosters I can assure you that this is the breakdown.

Yes, you should buy booster packs. Its the only way to get better cards, and stores make more money off of those sales than with decks (meaning they're more likely to keep carying the game).

I think there's 100 cards, not sure though.

And yes, hopefully. It all depends on how well this set sells, which is another reason why we should all go buy booster packs ;).

I'm really afraid that TMNT TCG will never get widespread. The game is ridiculously hard to find in the places that do carry it (walmart) and almost no smaller places are even stocking it, even if they can order it :cry:

Do play other games? Most games go completely under the radar... Magi-Nation, pry one of the BEST games to come out ever, is now dead. Mostly because they didn't get enough advertisment, but also because of the gaming community as a whole.

Most TCG gamers will ONLY play Magic: the Gathering. I personally can't stand people like this, because they're missing out on a lot of really great games, some of which I think are better than magic, because multiple decks stand a chance in competetive play, where as with magic only one deck does.

But yeah, I do think TMNT's going to fall in to the gaming blackhole. They need to advertise things better, get it distributed, then rework the rule book so it actually makes sense, AND reply to e-mails with simple gameplay questions (sent one last night about this time (11) and i've yet to get a response. I wonder if they even know how to play their games at times >_>). Still, so far I like the game so I'm gonna buy the packs.

That game was utter crap. The Decipher game was far and wide superior. I've been playing CCG/TCGs for 10 years now. I just stumbled onto the TMNT game yesterday (been a huge fan of the Turtle's since they first came out in 1984. I think Upper Deck has a good game plan (Yugioh, and Marvel) and I think if they approach this game with the same advertising and prize backing it'll sell and flourish. It's all about prize support. Marvel's 10k prize package at Origins has a lot of people talking and it's going to do well. I plan on playing it as well (because I need a new game and I love Marvel Comics) but I'm really digging this TMNT game and I really hope Upper Deck and Konami approach this the right way and push it. Also, it's is definitely time for a subcategory for a forum! the sooner the better! word of mouth and internet resources are huge factors in moving a game along to popularity and success.

Oh and this is my first post and first time visit to this site. I like it! :D

Hey, welcome bobb33z3r. And yeah, you make a good point. Most Wizards games as of late have been... bad (Duel Masters? Neopets?).

Also, it's VERY true that a game needs a strong community of players, and lots of resources, for it to sitck around. Look at Magi-Nation. While they haven't released a set in 2 years (which usually spells doom for a game) the fanbase on the net is still there, and tournaments are still being ran regularly. Pokemon's another good example. A prime example of their work is the Professor Program Wizards made, because all of the 15+ players banded together with players from the other age groups and demanded they still be included in the game.

So yeah, if some one would be willing to make card scans (even scanning 9 or so at a time. i can split them up and everthing for you then), I'll be willing to use some of my webspace and make an online visual spoiler.

oh, and at gwgtrunks.trafixsolutions.com , under local players, I have a message board with a TMNT TCG section. ( gwgtrunks.trafixsolutions.com/messageboard ). I'm also willing to help you get local level tournaments set up untill Upperdeck get their program going.

I don't forsee any problems. Companies usually have issue when people spoil cards before they are released, but not after the set is out. then it's all free advertising. so long as it's not used for profit. I'm sure gwg can ask UD since he'll be hosting. :)

And I'm pretty sure that's what the initial press release said. I'd say barring the game completely bombing, that should be about when it comes out. Upperdeck seems to think they need a new set every 1-2 months. Oh well, should have the 3rd right before Gencon though, so I can get ruling questions ready for Upperdeck

<play & flip> You may select and discard 1 Nature character card from your hand. If you do this, select and place 1 item card from your trash zone to your item zone. (You do not have to discard an additional card with the same attribute as the item.)

and the picture is April and the Turtles raising glasses for a toast.

OK from reading all this I have some questions. Obviously a 'complete set' would be three sets of a hundred (300 cards in total) for optimal game play purposes. How much money would you have to spend to achieve that? just how difficult are the rare cards per box?

Second question; even after reading through all this I'm still confused about the foils....I don't like foil, reflective, holographic crap, I just want to play the damn game. From what I understand the entire set isn't available in standard/normal cards, some of the more "rare" and special cards are only foal? WTF is that about?

I use to play MTG, and have off and on for fife years (usually getting together with the old high school gang and reminiscing while getting drunk) how hard is the TMNT game in comparison to magic...post portal that is ;) I learned on portal, so what? I was a gimp! :lol:

There are 100 total cards. All 100 of them appear in foil form. The foil breakdown is 80 regular foils (just the picture is holo) 10 super rare foils (the picture and borders are holo) and 10 ultra rare foils (the whole card is holo and the writing is in gold).

The 80 common non foil cards mirror the 80 common foils. The other 20 cards (super rare and ultra rare foils are only in that form)

OK that's what I though, I just wanted to confirm my worst fear! $%^&* creeps! Playing the damn game almost impossible because game players have to compete with treasure hunters. I don't mind having uncommon and rare cards (it makes the collecting aspect fun), but making them "ultra rare" and foil is ludicrous and ruins the whole game play! Those SOBs should have made those 20 available in standard format as well :x I HATE FOIL :x I hate plastic wrap as well :dead:

...I'll happily trade any of the 20 rare foils I might find for 300dpi scans of all 20 cards :D if i ever can find them at retail to begin with...

Fallen Eldor, the way I look at Upperdeck games is this: Rare's are just uncommons, Super Rares are just Rares, and Ultra Rares are just Holo Rares.

They think it makes their games sound better to have no uncommon cards or something. A member here has sources close to Upperdeck, but I'm not gonna bother him to find out just why they do that.

Also, you're talking about a playset... so yes, you'd need 300 cards. Then again, some cards arn't worth playing, so you'd only need about 100 or so cards :-p. You could pry get that in 3-4 boxes at the most, pry 2 at the least. You're looking from 100-300 or so bucks that way.

If you want playsets of super/ultra/uberhiddensecretholosparklyGOLDPLATEDANDTOUCHEDBYG OD rares (kidding about the uber... rare), you're gonna pry need about 6 boxes. or you can trade for them, which is half the point of any TCG. Or find singles on the 'net for cards you wanna run (pry the best thing to do IMO).

Sounds advice guys, thanks. I just recall what it was like with Magic, where a complete set of anything was ultimately pointless, but these are TMNT man, and I'll be damned if I had a full set of Pokemon (for my nephew... :tanime: ) and not a full set of TMNT...I guess your right that I wouldn't need three of Every card...I'm sure plenty of them suck.

we just got our booster packs here in oklahoma last week...I love the cards...the game is really fun. I was wondering...are there multiple colors for Mousers...or are they only wind? Also is Baxter Stockman with multiple colors or is he only fire? I want to make a baxter stockman/mouser deck...but they are different colors.

Nope, Baxter and the Mousers are only one color. If you want a good deck play wise, Id say make a blue deck with mousers, and you can throw in a few Baxter cards. The problem with basing your deck around characters other than one of the four turtles is that you don't get any of the powerful forceful attacks.

Basically its like this...

there are 100 cards total.

80 of those cards come in common (nonfoil) form and common foil form. These common foils only have the picture with foil the rest is plain.

Then there are 10 Super Rare Foils, there are no nonfoil versions of these, the have both the picture and the border in holofoil.

Finally there are 10 Ultra Rare Foils, there are no nonfoil versions of these, the have both the picture and the border in holofoil and gold writing for the name.

If you look at the list in the first post, there is a * to indicate super rares and ** for ultra rares. Actually seeing them will prob help you to differentiate.

Okay, not really that new to the boards, (just don't post much...) Ever since I heard that the game was coming out, I was stoked! Ever since February, I have been looking EVERYWHERE! I went to a pretty good crd shop in town and the owner said he wouldn't order any TMNT cards unless four people asked...I was the first. Anyhow, he said some magazine "gave it a poor review...Blah, blah blah"...So I said...Whatever, I just want one pack at least, because I love everything Turtles...So, since then I kinda' put it on the backburner...Then, one day, I was at a Wal-mart on the oposite side of my town...looking at the card section when...lw and behold, there were some packs! Looked brand new...no price nothing...So I said...Hmm...Maybe, there is a starter deck...after much digging ( Our Wal-marts are a super-mess) I found one...Huzzah! So I bought the deck and a booster and thought it would be great...It was! The next day, before school, I went all the way back to that Wal-Mart and bought three more boosters! It was so fun at school checking out my new cards...building up the decks...Ah the memories...(Former Pokemon Junkie am I...) After school, I took them over to my friends house...We played one game ang got hooked! I told him I may go back and buy some more later that evening. He wanted to go, so between him and I...We bought six packs. The following day, (this past Saturday) him and I both got two more packs...and today I got two more myself...which was awesome! I got Shredder! (Don't tell my friend though...) So I am officially hooked on the new TCG and will support it as long as it lasts!

Ok me and mikey have the two player starter set and don't know where to go from there. Anyone got a tutorial for how we play this game?

Yeah and the way we played it tonight was brutal! We want to know how to really play it and what to do. Thanks for anyone that helps. We played tonight and things got so heated I lost 2 cards.

HAHAHAHA! Yeah that was great. The battle was waged so hard...when the dust settled JameO had 2 cards missing! We made up a bunch of rules. Like character cards can be used as attack cards. I'm sure that isn't the case?

Ok so I got a whole box of the booster packs (24 packs at 9 cards per pack). I also got my self a starter deck (2-40 card decks). My first question is, do all starter decks contain the same cards. Would it be foolish if i purchased 2 starter decks to try and complete my set? 2. On the booster pack box (24 packs, 9 cards per pack) it sais : collect 55 common, 100 foil, 10 super rare and I think it was 6 or 10 ultra rare. I thought the set was 100 not 55, but i have way more then 55 common, I have 80 common. in other words what is a common. 3. I know that foils are repeated as commons but are super and ultra rare repeated as commons, if not then why do they have a number in conjunction with the commons. 4.I assume that the ultra rare are the ones with the golden name and the wavey holographic backround also because I only pulled 2 of theses from the entire box but what is the difference between the foil cards and the super rare cards. I have noticed that some foil cards have a holographic number and some dont. which is which. 5. Are there pages for storing under sized trading card games. I have tried to use the traditional 9 sleeve pages but they are too big and my cards easly slip out.
can some one please help.

Aight fellas...here it is. This is a work in progress for the new TCG line to create a checklist for it since there isnt a single one to be found. It is a work in progress as it is based on the cards I have. If you can post any others you have I will edit the checklist till it is complete.

From what I gather there is 100 cards total. There is a regular edition and then a foil version of the card. Super Rares are (1:6) packs and Ultra Rares are (1:12). Once I establish which cards have these I will list them two.

Finally figured out how the holofoil system works...
Of the 100 foils, 80 are common, these cards only have the picture of the card in foil form, not the border or the words. The 10 Super Rare cards have the entire picture and 90% of the border in holo form. So far it seems as if these 10 include the four turtles "forceful" attacks on the color that matches the turtle (ex: Leo - Blue - Shippu; Mike - Yellow - Fudo). The casey jones "this is my justice" scanned below is also one of these super rares. The ULTRA RARE are completely holofoil and have gold lettering for the name. These include the four turtles in their matching card border color (ex: Leo - blue, mike - yellow). So far the only other one I have of this style is "shredder" but I would imagine that Casey, April, Splinter and a few others have this treatment (up to 10).

Also if you would like a scan of any picture from a card just ask and I'll see what I can do.

According to your list #17 is a SUPER RARE. That is untrue. #17 is a common card.
