Yes, this is the infamous "Shell Shock" episode, it aired as part of Power Ranger's excellent sixth season, "Power Rangers In Space" and was an attempt at increasing the ratings of arguably the worst Turtle series ever, Next Mutation.
It did'nt work, and the episode was a nightmare.

Yeah, the famous (or is it infamous?) TMNT/PR crossover. It started in the PR episode, "Save Our Ship" and was continued in the next episode, "Shell Shocked." The crossover had a few funny moments, but it didn't really amount to much. I enjoyed watching the TMNT team up with the baddies and take on the Rangers, though. :)

They were bad/evil in that episode? Or they fought them for other reasons?

Actually, from what I recall, this PR/TMNT cross-over was an attempt to get fans back into Power Rangers, as NT:TNM was scoring higher ratings than PR. There was also this comic, http://www.thetechnodrome.com/comics/archie_specials/year_of_the_turtle_1.jpg it was quite good, the PR got their arses kicked by the turtles

Content wise the crossover was a huge disappointment. If you'd watched the preview shown at the end of Ep3 of Power Rangers In Space it implied the Power Rangers were actually going to FIGHT the Ninja Turtles. Now that would've been cool. Instead, in one of the most ridiculous moments in PR, the rangers run away from the Turtles and get captured. I still don't understand why they didn't morph and fight them.
The episode also suffered from the Venus ruining the whole thing as usual.
Even though the episode wasn't that great, I liked what the team up represented - a crossover between my two favourite kids shows.
I mean just look at that comic posted above, they are just some cheap Power Ranger spoofs. In the Shell Shocked you were getting the 'real' Power Rangers fighting the 'real' Ninja Turtles. Not the Mighty Powerful Mega Rangers or whatever they are supposed to be in that comic. It would be just as bad having Power Rangers vs Teenage Radioactive Karate Reptiles. But, no Saban gave us Power Rangers meet the Ninja Turtles and however useless the episode was I'm glad the actual crossover happened. :D

You know... I saw that in the store when I was on an Anti-Power Ranger phase (I could care less, I still don't like them... sorry guys) but I STUPIDLY never bought it! I bet I can find it somewhere....

I still hate the Power Rangers with a passion, but I would love to have those two eps of it, just because the Turtles (Next Mutation, or not) were in them. Also, I gotta get my mitts on those comics. I was (and still am!) very religious about collecting my Turtles comics, but I must've missed this series. Power Rangers or no in it, I can tolerate them for the sake of our Turtles.
And the incarnation of the Power Rangers that they were in was "Power Rangers in Space", you say? Geez, that's been AGES ago! Anybody know where I can find those two eps of it, at least?

If memory serves me, I believe the TMNT were brainwashed.

No, the "Rangers" you see on that cover are PARODIES, Power Rangers and TMNT were both huge during the 90's, so the oppertunity to make fun of that was siezed upon by Archie, who could'nt secure the rights to use the Rangers from Saban.

Nope. I've only ever seen it on TV. They still show it once in a blue moon, and when it does come on, someone here usually gives a heads up.

Yeah, I'll keep an eye out for that heads-up. I really would like to see those two eps, maybe tape them, even.
Then TMNT were brainwashed, you say? Probably into thinking that the PR were the bad guys. (Well, at least something good came out of it, if they kicked the PR's butts! (Can you guys tell that I don't like the PRs very much??))

I lost intrest in PR after the Turbo movie came out. still got a few of the toys after that though, mostly 'cause the Zords were fun. In my mind the first season is still the best, but the second wasn't bad either.
And when TNM came out, I got turned off of TMNT for a while.
Ya know, I bet a lot of the people who dislike PR are just bitter that when it came out TMNT all but dissappeared from the mainstream.
Call it a hunch if you will.
Can you guys tell that I don't like the PRs very much??Yes, seeing as you've posted it already in the thread, and many many others. I think we get it by now ;).

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT READ THIS ISSUE YET...
Oh.... I kinda remember this story arc. The Sentai Look-alikes get beaten pretty good, but then there's something with a moonstone, and at the end you find a De-mutated Splinter. The story continues with the eventual Demutation of Mike, and then the Re-mutation of Mike and Sp.
In the last issue of this arc, you find that Splinter has been telling the story of what happened to a (literally) child like Michelangelo. Splinter comes out after the story and speaks to the family, showing the wearing off of the moonstone's power. (his hand is regaining the ratfur)
You never do find out if Mike was ever normal again... :(
But Damn, Splinter's good looking in this... :goofygri:

Zarius, why don't you leave? Your getting on our nerves.
"Our", what? you speak for the entire forum? a forum who is pretty much sick of YOU and your constant spam threads about how much you love Venus?
My last post in this thread was a joke, naturally, since you will never have a sense of humour, you don't appreciate it
Grunger Kittie, I apologise, what I meant to say in the "Did Mikey say that about a show" line was simply a joke, I did'nt expect Jarrah to again take it seriously.
I'll stay out of this thread now

I won't start another argument, we are civilised people. I will say this though Zarius. I didn't get get the joke because a) As the man in my avatar said "I never joke about my work" and b) you bash TNM so much it's hard to tell if your just joking around or being serious. I understand you hate the show, alot of people do. I'll admit it's not the best version of TMNT, but what I don't understand is why you have to bash it at every chance you get. There are many threads on the boards, some of them containing things I dislike or show no interest in. I choose to ignore them. Zarius, you've made your point, you hate NT:TNM, we accept that. But please try to accept that other do like it.

The Power Rangers started like a year or so after I went on my no TMNT hiatus (which lasted like two or three years). I really just didn't have any interest in Power Rangers, or any super heroes for that matter during that time...I can't remember hardly a thing about any eps of PR, but I think I remember finding them too cheesy (sorry if there are any PR fans here, don't hurt me please :goofygri: ). In fact, there was some other horrible show Saban put on about this teenage boy who fought evil aliens or whatever. I can't remember what it was about entirely, but it was so cheesy even back then at the age of ten I cringed at it. I would probably watch this PR/TMNT crossover if I ever caught it just out of curiousity because the Turtles are in it.

Ahhh yes, that was Masked Rider, and beleive me, it WAS bad, I'm a major Power Rangers fan (horrifcally underated by those who thrash it) but Masked Rider was REALLY bad, it had no redeeming values whatsoever

The reason the voices were difference in Power Rangers was that Next Mutation was filmed in Canada and so they ended up with Canadian voice actors, Power Rangers was filmed in Los Angeles under the greatness of MMPR Productions so they used American voice actors for the Turtles.
