Old toon for me (in 1989). And the first episode I happened to run into was "Turtle Tracks", just in the part when Michaelangelo was yelling "ROBOTS?! LET'S ROCK!!" I tell you, I FREAKED THE HELL OUT!!! (in a good way) Thus beginning my pasion for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. then in 1999, I stumbled upon the official TMNT website for the first time, which also led to the discovery of the MIRAGE UNIVERSE. My passion was even greater once I found out there existed a more adult version of the turtles. Until 2003 I kept dreaming about a Mirage-adadpted TMNT animated series animated like Jackie Chan Adventures ( This is no bulls***). What an amazing coincidence.

I dun remember, they just been around ever since I can remember. Though, when I was little, we didn't have Cable, and we only had 3 channels... so its possible that since our TV-ness was limited, I didn't have anything else to watch XD... it was part of my saterday morning cartoons.

An other possibility, is well, My mum use to go bowling a lot, and while she bowled, we went to this little daycare thigny, and the other kids that were there played with Ninja Turtles action figures ((I remember, that's how I lost one of mine  ))

but, yeah... :P

First, I saw the toys in the store back in '87 or 88. Then my cousin brought over some of the toys and we played with them. That saturday, I got up early to watch the cartoon splinter no more.

I think it was when I was young, my cousins got me into the old show. I also loved the movies and had some of the Archie comics. Of course, up until like, last year I had no idea about the original comics at all! :P

I knew about TMNT I think since the second grade, kids would play games as TMNT characters on the playground at recess...they'd name me a character but I didn't really know who I was playing. Then later on in the second grade around December I started collecting the action figures and watched the cartoon. Hence I became a fan...an almost rabid one. Then I took a hiatus for a while, got rid of my stuff but now I'm back as a more casual fan this time. I'll always like the TMNT...they're my favorite heroes ever!

My younger brother (who's also on these forums) was obsessed with the old TMNT cartoon, and he dragged me into it.

Now... here I am. :D Probably more obsessed than he... Hehe.

When I was 5 (thought I was 6 at the time but mom said other wise when I brought it up) we lived in this little appartment in Okinawa that was on base and all. I was an only kid, so often left to entertain myself, thus if mom ever found something that she thought might keep me amused she'd let me know about it. I've always seemed to like animal related stuff alot, so when she saw the old TMNT cartoon on she called me in to check it out. It was Okinawa's first showing of the ep where Baxter had Splinter captured with some machine that he'd bust through the wall of the building that they and the turtles were in..

Looks like I'll have to repeat myself. As a young boy I lived in a block of flats. The kids above were crazy about it. I remember one time the kids, and myself, went running around the hallways trying to kill each other over a TMNT frizbee  I didn't watch it much, I was more interested in shows like Inspector Gadget, but I was often invited up to my friends place. I'd find them glued to the telly watching TMNT. Either that or James Bond Jr. I saw three episodes, Leonardo is Missing, Adventures of Rhino Man and Adventures in Turtle Sitting. I think I might have seen more episodes but I can't remember. Now, I'm pretty sure I Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation at some stage, it came on shortly after Godzilla: The Series ended. Still I payed no attention, I wish I had now :( . Then on one day last year I was watching Cheez TV on channel 10, Things Change started. At first I thought, I god no, not that show. But then I began to realise hang on, doesn't the animation look different? After that I was hooked on TMNT, though I was too sky to admit it to my family. I would watch it in my room with the volume really quite. Later I admitted to them that I watch the show.

My passion started in 1991 during a trip to the USA. I found the 1989 Arcade game and simply loved it! So when I returned to my country I started to watch the cartoon and get the NES games. I'm still watching the old toon series and I'm currently buying some tapes with episodes from this series.

The earliest I can remember was buying a Archie comic in 1991 (just around the time movie #2 came out. And it had a little contest where 20 readers could win tickets to the movie, I tried it out, and won! One of the few comics I have left is a later one which has my name among the winners :)

My sister brought me back a pirate version of the first TMNT movie in the summer of 1990, she was on holiday in Spain, I think.
I instantly loved them, btw I don't think I'd seen the cartoon before that.
It was the American version too, so it was uncensored which was really cool, I got to see it about 50 times before it was released in cinemas in Ireland ha, ha.

i really don't know how i found TMNT but it was the old series and the archie comics for me probably about 89, when i was in kindergarten. I didn't even know about the mirage Universe and the all red tmnt till like 97. I thought any TMNT art i saw was a flub if the team had red bandanas...ha. now i'm wiser and wish i could invest in the mirage comics and for nestelgia purposes the old show and archie comics...i won't grow up u can't make me!!!

I was about 4 or 5 and I ran home from the playground to my house and turned on FOX to watch The Real Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters wasn't on and some intro to a new show about some Turtles or something was on.

Throughout about half the intro I was too busy being pissed to notice what the show was. Then I saw that part with Mikey doing his whole little Nunchaku thing knocking Shuriken and stuff away and it caught my attention.

The episode came on and it was the one where Baxter got turned into a fly. I was hooked from then on out.

When the first 5-ep mini series appeared, I watched it out of curiousity and was hooked. I didn't miss it when they rerunned the 5-ep thing again and went crazy when they got their own series! Games, movies, the Archie comics.. I was even lucky enough to get an issue from the City at War series.
