hehe Which do you think is deadlier, I will tell you the origens of the boe staff and why it was deadlear

Many people would think the boe staff is less deadly then most weapons. It is not sharp and you would have to give a good beating to kill someone with it right?

Nope wrong!

THe boe staff if you did not know was actually the main ninja weapon in the past. How so? Well the boe staff was actually hollow! So the ninjas put deadly weapons in the boe staff such as Daggers, poisened objects that can be thrown during battle, a spear that can pop out at any time, heck if you look at Benvenuto's turtle (Ben i think he named him) if you ever see him, the weapon he uses; the boe with the blade, the wood could braek and that sword peice can come out, they had many poision objects and it was very durable. Now if you think of today in this time, the boe is still dealdier because we can make a Titanium boe that has a hollow like the olden days and still do the same thing. Theres something to think about. A boe multitasking hehehe. Now after being hit with this info which do you think would of been more Deadly Donnie with that boe or Leo with his swords?

Can't katanas cut through 3 inch thick steel?

I still say swords, nice theorising though

I don' know if the Bo is deadlier, but maybe better for multi tasking, or maybe more practical?

i would say the swords where more deadly, because its not the actual staff that does the damage its the blade or the poison etc in the staff as you said above. :trazz:

But the sword is sharp, and it can cut stuff. Thats pretty deadly. I say the katana is deadlier, but I would rather fight with a bo myself.

Hm.. I seem to remember reading on a Japanese history site that bo's came from the sticks they'd use to carry water buckets. So why would they be hallowed out? I don't think they were.

Swords can slice and chop, bo's can crush (that XMA show that the discovery channel had on marked the force of a blow from a bo at around 500 pounds of preassure. knuchakus were at about 5,000 though ;) ). That's enough to crush a skull, or break most any bone on the body. However a sharp katana could cut through bone, wood, and even steel.

It also depends on what weapons the fighter's good with or has trained with. Obviously if you've never used a sword or a bo, you're not gonna do much but look like an idiot.

I think the katanas are deadlier, But in combat I'd rather have the Bo. It has distance, and it can knock out multiple opponents really easily.

In the hands of a true ninjitsu master anything can be a deadly weapon. Remember, a weapon is only as good as the arm that weilds it.

All the Ninja Turtles weapons have great potential use. But to me the boe staff is the least effective than the other 3.

i have to disagree because the staff has a longer reach than the others

Do not forget the multitask the boe can do. Remmember hit can contain a good sharp blade even as sharp as the katanai. So if I were a master with the boe and you were with the swords chances is if you cut my boe i will just pull out the sword from the boe, another cool thing is the boe could carry a Kuanai inside with rope so now i have a throwing weapon that i can just throw at you hhehe. So i stay with the boe as a more deadly weapon because its within the boe not whats outside. As they say "Dont judge a book by its cover"

I'm more impressed by the bo then i use to be. But my vote still goes to the kitana.

All that stuff inside the bo isnt the bo itself, clearly making the kitana more deadly then a wooden staff.

You fools, don't you listen to Master Splinter. "In the hands of a true Ninjitsu master, anything can be a deadly weapon. Until you have learned this lesson, you have learned nothing." -Shredder Strikes. Either weapon can be equally deadly, it depends on how you use em.

Think of it this way, if you and your enemy are equall in combat and weapons usage, but you use diffrent weapons, one would have an advantage over the other. Which would you pick if you were in a fight, I would pick the bo because its durable and can carry hidden weapons to help me win the battle.

But if i have a plain old bo and my enemy has a sword, chances are if i need to defend myself because this guy is my equal, i will definitly need to block, then my bo would break and i would have smaller weapons and that would either gain or lose my advantage, probably lose cause my defense is not as strong anymore.

Depends. If you hit someone in the head hard enough or just plain know where the vital points of the body are, you can kill someone with a staff quite easily. I took karate for three years and used to know all of the vital areas of the body, but thanks to financial difficulties I had to leave, and now all that knowledge is long gone.

For fighting I'd have to say the Katana, but for usefullness, I'd go with the Bo. I mean Donny can use that bo for a lotta things, like a javalin to throw, or a pole to jump with. Though the katana is handy for slicing pizzas! :D

I'd go with Katana, especially a pair like Leo uses.
Personally, gimme the sai so I can poke someone, that'll take 'em down. Right in the gut and let 'em bleed slowly....

Except that sai are traditionally blunt...

And as for hollowing out a bo, as soon as that was done, it technically becomes a different weapon. There are different techniques and tactics.

But I vote for the bo, simply because of its versatility. Given that the wielders of these weapons have equal skill with them, I think the bo would be a more effective weapon.

It depends on the skill of the person. The Bo has the reach while the Katana has the sharpness. It all depends on who is left standing.

I have to agree with Kali here.

A rokushakubo is a different weapon than a shikomi-zue.

There are different advantages to the bo over the katana. I can use a bo and not get arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, and I can legally carry a bo around without penalization. That in itself makes it more practical.

Of course, a katana can be quite deadly with very little effort. It definitely takes less skill to kill with a sword than with a staff.

In the end, though, it depends on the skill of the person using the weapon.

Actually the tip of the sai used to be sharp for the slashing action. The shaft was always either round or faceted. I think the facets are to make them look flashier when one performs a kata at a competition or something like that.
Possibly the wing tips were also sharpened.
So yeah I could poke someone, put a big hole in them and they'd sloowwlly bleeedd....

BUt I'm not that kind of person...i like people too much to hurt em...and my sai are not sharp tipped. not to mention the icky sight of blood.....

it also depends on how experienced the user is...

If i was taken captive and had to be hit with one but i had the choice which, i'd rather be hit with the bo staff. I know that could kill me, but the sword has more potential to mame me, or make me bleed like hell from the slash wounds (which would make a mess and generally be quite unpleasant), or even kill me straight out say if it took my head clean off.

Well of course it would depend on the skill of the person wielding the weapon, etc., etc., but I'm going with Leo's katana. That's pretty neat info about the bo being hollowed out (though it technically becomes a different weapon), but you asked about Donnie and his bo -- and Donnie's isn't hollowed out. Plus Leo's a more skilled fighter than Don anyway. :goof:

A wise rat once said that a true ninja should not need to rely on his weapons in order to be deadly, so either can be just as deadly as the other in the hands of a true ninja.
