Image or Mirage Volume 4, which do you prefere?

Mirage. Image had some cool ideas, but the execution was really poor. I like most of the stuff mirage is doing, and it's better on the whole.

Haven't we had a few topics like this recently? It seems like I've posted a reponse to something like this not too long ago. *shrugs*

Ummm..... Mike, yeah. And maybe Raph.

But, as for Leo, Don, Casey, April, and Splinter?? Oh, hell no.

volume 4 just seems bland.

I know it may seem "bland" compared to a series that ripped out Raph's eye, turned Don into a cyborg, Splinter into a big bat, and hacked off Leo's left hand.... :roll:

.... but Laird truly is doing some epic writing. A lot of the character development is reminiscent of parts of City at War (minus the theme of overarching violence).

Compared to mirage's current writing, yes I think the image series was much better. Laird is a great artist but not that great at writing by himself. He's a good when he's paired with Kevin Eastman at writing, it seems like when they put their heads together they can come up with some great things.
People like to bash Image because of all the changes. I will admit that I didn't like leo's hand being cut off, but everything else was ok. don being a cyborg fit his tech self.
As for the personalities, i think they were better too. the turtles acted like waht they were: 18 year old guys. they were serious when they needed to be, joked around when they could. Casey was almost perfect, as was Shadow and April. Splinter was also handled good, he just seemed cool.Him tying Pimiko up with the phonecord was just awesome. As for him being a bat, it wasn't for that long.
Overall, yes I think that image was better.Don't get the wrong idea, i don't think volume 4 is terrible, I just think it could be better, and should be. Maybe if laird got some help with the scripting part of the comic the writing would be better, and if we got a different art team. The first one might happen but sadly not the second one. Laird seems to like working with lawson and won't back down even with many people asking for a change in art.
looks like i rambled on for a bit, but that's what i wanted to say. I'll let the lawson-lovers come get me now :wink:

so far out of what ive read in volume 4, i really really hate, the writting is boring, the art looks lazy.

i like volume 3, but mostaly because of the art, the storys are ok, but there not great. of cource it has flaws, but i still like it more than volume 4.

Oh well. I suppose this is the reason why the 'the' bands are regarded as geniuses, and American Idol is in like its 13th season.

the art looks lazy compared to what lawson use to do, the story is only boring becasue im not into what hes writting right now, its getting a little better, but i still dont care for it very much.

usually when a person says that something is boring or this sucks it's usually assumed in most cases that that's an opinion unless you want to get picky and start arguing about it..

I dunno. Sometimes this place is strange. It almost seems as if there are selective rules as to when you can and cannot give your opinion on something.

Not imagining things, but it is "just you". You've got a history attached to you boy. And just 'cause you ain't got the pretty warning stickers anymore doesn't mean it's all been swept under the bridge. :wink:
