Well except for first printings and ones that are signed.

Turtlemania specials gold cover (10 exist) and silver cover (100 exist) are the rarest ones i know of.
The regular cover one is rare also (1000 exist)

also, There are the errors of the Mirage comics which are pretty rare:
-TMNT #3 where the ink is printed sharply instead of with gradation on the cover
-TMNT #4 (2nd printing) and Tales of the TMNT #1 accidentally had the logos switched on a handful of covers.

Quest For Dreams Lost is pretty rare.

Shell Shock is pretty rare too.

If you're looking for rare comic stories, the old TMNT magazine featured original stories about five pages long with art by Jim Lawson. They almost always featured a weird mutant character such as Lobsterdude or Jagwar.

Also, there's a little known comic called "Turtle Gumbo" featured in an older issue of Heavy Metal. I forget who is the artist of this one.

TMNT/Creed with special covers (holo, etc)
Quest For Dreams Lost
Turtlemania
Fox Box mini comic (animated)

not really rare, but obscure:
Casey Jones & Raphael #1
Greengrey Sponge-Suit Sushi Turtles
Collected Tales TPB
TMNT TPB (Vol 3 Image)

Collected Book Vol 7 is also hard to find

I think TMNT #2 had the lowest run of any regular issue

I love it. ;) I think it's better than Mark Martin's "real" TMNT work in the Mirage series since you know it's not "canon" (not that anyone really considers those as canon anyway)

I also appreciate that the Mirage crew was not afraid to try the avant garde (actually they never were) and make fun of themselves a bit.

Fox Box mini comic (animated)

Are you talking about the one that you got free at TRU before the show came out, right when the new figs came out? (with the cards in the middle)

I'm talking about the mini-size animated intro comic (not by Dreamwave) which was packaged in the Toys R Us Fox Box, which was pulled from distribution.

It's essentially a toon version of the first few pages of Mirage TMNT #1.

"GobbledyGook #1 & #2 (1984)" is very hard to find and one of the most rare to obtain! The making of this book pre-dates the creation of the TMNT. Rather then take it to the printers, Eastman & Laird just made 100 photo copies of the comic and stapled them. So there are only 100 of them. Also, another interesting thing is GobbledyGook was released on September 1984 (four months after TMNT #1) so it actualy has the first advertisement of TMNT #1 inside it. :twink:
