Custom April Jumpsuit Figure 2k3

Hey guys, I was afraid Playmates wouldn't make the Yellow Jumpsuit April, so I did :D

Yeah, something about data transfers. I don't know. Keep trying back, because it will work eventually. I had to load and reload the page several time to get it to look just the way I wanted it. So, it should work again within the hour.

Thanks everybody! It's funny you mention the thing about the orange. I just got back from walmart with some testors paint. My wife doesn't think I should get rid of the orange, but I told her I'm gonna. I've decided on Purple since that's what she wears most often in the show, now. I had a hard time with getting her neck right. I think the other one looks kinda bad because the neck is too big, but I couldn't really do anything about that.

I'll update with picks of her in purple outlines instead of orange.

looks good, but looks just like the new April head "pasted" on the old april body. Their skin colors don't match, but I know it would be hard to mix the right paint...

It pretty much is that for right now. Just the new head on the old body. I'm painting it up a bit right now. I didn't try painting all the orange yellow because it would be impossible to find a matching yellow, since it's the acutal collor of the plastic. I've decided on purple and white, and I'll update that picture soon.

It might be more accurate then, if you put the new April's head on the original all yellow jumpsuit no blue stripe April's body (1st ever April).

Hm... i'm gonna be a bit of a jerk, and say it's not too great. Not bad, but not good.

here's some things i'd change:
1) repaint the skin so it matches
2) repaint the jump suit to a mustard yellow color (or mix a little bit of brown in to some yellow paint, but only a little... brown likes to take over other colors -_- ).
3) her head looks too big. But that's not something that can be fixed easily. =\.

It's a good start though :)

Actually, what I plan to do is make another one with the original April figure, the all yellow one. I'd like to take a small drill bit and bore a hole above her right breast and fashion a # 6 with a peg on it so that you can flip it from 9 to 6.

I'm working on one, too except I'm taking the april from the new toon and sculpting some extra deatures to make it look like the jump suit and then painting it. This way, the skin color matches and everything is to scale. Granted, it's a helluva lot more work. I hope it turns out alright.

For the sculpting I use super sculpy and for paint I usually try to use either testors or tamiya. Non-gloss, of course.

perfect it's not, but I am satisfied with it, being my first custom. You can tell the lines down her legs weren't done by a professional. :tlol:
