Drtooth - I've always thought the same thing. She looks like an adult, human version of Jeanette. It's freaky.
I still wonder why April only ever wore yellow? Even in the rare times she wasn't in her jumpsuit, her clothes were yellow. She does wear a purple bathrobe in A Thing About Rats but I think all other times it's always yellow. Which was stupid, as yellow didn't even look that great on her.

Someone else who agrees with me. I don't know why the show's artists put her in yellow, it's a bad color for someone of her coloring. I do remember her wearing a pink/purple dress at one point, though.
In later seasons she got an outfit made with more neutral colors that looked a little better.

The actual jumpsuit I didn't mind...considering her job and all the situations she was always getting into, it made sense for April to wear a jumpsuit. It just shouldn't have been yellow. I think something in a nice brown colour would've suited her better.

She also wore different clothes in the beginning of new york's shiniest.

Yeah that excessive yellow got on my nerves too. I made jokes about that with other ppl, 'Oh look she's wearing a diff costume......but of course it's yellow!' In "New York's Shiniest" she worse a purplish dress, looked nice too. She should dress up more often. In "April Foolish" she at first dressed in the yellow dress, then got into Malary's pinkish princess dress. In "The Gang's All Here" she dressed up as a punk, loved her spikey, 80s hair-do too! Her jacket was a diff color, tho she still wore the yellow pants. Boy that time the yellow looked tackier, and clashier than ever! In the first season of the Red Sky, she finally ditched the yellow jumpsuit as you know, for a brown jacket, but yes same old yellow pants, lol! I think she finally got rid of yellow altogether in the 2nd and 3rd/final seasons of Red Sky. 'Bout time lady!

Dunno... maybe April Likes yello... I'm sure that she wears it to attract attention to her.... uh.... let's just say good looking body. Now, lets say (for arguement's sake, and the fact I'm in a particuallrly silly mood) she was fat. She wouldn't be wearing yellow or bright colors. maybe black or darker colors. Plus if she wore that jumpsuit and was overweight, there's be far too many easy to make jokes about her looking like a school bus (working on a really weird story idea.... if you wanna know where this is coming from)
Could be. I mean, it was the eighties after all. Most of us didn't dress much better back then. Still, if she continued to wear that today, we'd have to call What Not To Wear on her lemonade butt. Ooh, now there's a fan fic idea...

That is just how it goes. I think it is a rule. Look at the Power Rangers. They always wore the same color. It is so kids (and adults, :) ) can associate colors with their favorite characters.

How is it that April is less, eh, top heavy, in a bikini than in her jumpsuit?

Since it's a kids cartoon they probably didn't want to draw her in all her glory so to speak while wearing a bikini. While wearing her jumpsuit she is covered up so I guess they could get away with more.

As it was stated earlier, The whole yellow phase for April was basicly a color coding thing. Blue = Leo, Purple = Don, Red = Raph, Orange = Mikey and Yellow = April. Now that I think about it, it's kinda like April was the unofficial fifth turtle! Oh, and let's not forget about Zack! His color code was green, making him the sixth turtle! :tlol:
BTW, about April's *ahem* chest, I'm surprised with how loose and low the opening on April's jumpsuit was. I'm mean, it was so loose but you would never see cleavage.

well, the show was still for kids, so no matter how open her shirt was they can't draw cleavage (though they sure drew alot of half-screen-filling rear shots). Videogames, I guess, are a different story.

Dude, I am forever seeing CLEAVAGE in old 'toon April. That is, ALL the time. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that April is the 80's toon cleavage queen.
