View Full Version : UK version of TMNT deleted scenes?

Is it just my eyes, or have they been cutting
the UK version of the show? :-? I was comparing few UK
and US eps yesterday and noticed quite a bunch of oddities.

For example, in the New York Shiniest, they have cut
the scene where Mikey removes the lamp from the ceiling
with his nunchuku. Also, the scene where Rex 1 breaks
Donny´s Bo.

The sensors have certainly concentrated on removing
all ninja/martial arts related stuff! And they did quite a thorough
job considering the amount of similar cuts in other eps as well...

Well, from what i've read, mike was the most screwed over, because Nunchaku were pretty uch banned from the country...they thought the sight of them would incite riots and anarchy...Its a cortoon, for pete's sake!

Yeah. In UK versions of episodes, and even the movies, most of Mike's nunchuck scenes were cut, and other scenes as well, it seems. They also changed Ninja to Hero in the title at some point. They seemed to think the show was too violent.

Yeah uk eps are edited :(. And they changed the word ninja to hero... Really stupid..

Yeah, kinda stupid. The TMHT logo looked like poorly hand drawn...
I wonder which version of the series aired in our country, Karpo?
Do you remember?

At least the incredibly poorly dubbed finnish videos were made of the original US show...

I know that we only got the first 3 seasons and we had the uk version. I know because my cousin has some old vhs he recorded... But the vhs that were sold were the uncut ones... Exeptpt the first vhs wich was the first 5 episodes edited to one movie...

If DBZ would air in the UK and they cut so much stuff, they'd probably end up with some 5 minute eps :lol: :lol: :lol:
There are so many fights that i doubt the eps would be too long if they do.

5 minutes is no exageration!!! maybe even less :P actually if dbz is in the UK it would be shown on Toonami and CN doesn't have to obey all the major network rules...

Ohhhhh...CN UK...yeah if it airs there it probably won't get more cuts than the usa version, or if it does, the cuts wouldn't be too many because like you said they don't have to obey all of those rules...i didn't even knew there was cartoon network in the UK :embarass:

The Irish Jig is Up
so I'm assuming that all of european vacation eps were TMHT....

hmmmm...add enter the shredder to that list if you want, i've seen it and it's missing a couple of scenes.

I actually started encoding Enter the Shredder but my stupid parents inturrupted me. Turtle Tracks is done but doesn't have my intro yet.

The British didn't edit some of the episodes actually. Menace, Maestro Please was TMHT and the only thing they edited out was Bebop and Rocksteady saying "We're back!". Which I think was because there was no commercial break at that point like there is in the TMNT version.
"Definitely not! Your always messing things up!" "Whoa! oops" *rocksteady spills crackers all over the table* "See what I mean?" "I consider that a vicious smear on our character" *As bebop is spreading PB on a computer chip*

Okay, I can understand why people don't like the edited British versions of the TMNT cartoon, but that does not mean you can insult the British people. We do have a few members from the UK, and I don't think they'd appreciate that. And please refrain from using language that may be considered offensive to others. Thanks.

I have quite a few, actually...the specific one at the time was "Casey Jones: Outlaw Hero"...and screw .rms; AVIs are the only way to go :D :D :D

Tell me about it; they don't edit out Leo's swords, Raph's sais, or Don's bo...all of which I might add are quite deadlier than nunchakus if you think about it, yet they censor out Mike's nunchacku scenes.

Yeah i hate rm...they're blurry and sometimes drop a lot of frames :sweatdro: thats why i replaced my rm eps with avi ones when i had the chance...and i only have casey jones outlaw hero in avi, edited...sorry :ohwell:

It's aneurysm but that was close enough :wink: and i agree, i hate british censoring!or any censoring for that matter...butchered shows suck :( oh well, at least tmnt's censoring was by far not as bad as, say, sailor moon.
Well for now i guess it's either getting the files in bad quality uncensored, or in good quality censored (seasons 3 & 4, anyways) but maybe deathknight will encode a bunch of uncensored ones in good quality, he already encoded turtle tracks and big bug blunder (and i think he was thinking about encoding beyond the donatello nebula too) but some of the eps he has are the USA edited ones :ohwell:
As for the euro eps...I think the aneurysm encodes of the euro eps are also from TMHT, but you can get those eps from www.getvcds.com in vcd (*LICENSED* vcds mind you :P ) you can watch it in your pc, the files will be in mpg instead of avi tho, and if you have a dvd player you can watch em there too.

Sorry to say but season 3 and 4 of anurysm are uk edited ones...Not all...some of the season 3 ones I have are of the good ole' US eps :D :D :D

And besides, the edited ones I've been watching lately I haven't noticed much editing of other than leaving out the word "Ninja" when referring to the turtles.
