Those last figures of the classic TMNT line? The TMNT had HORRIBLE figures with cyber samurai and supermutant figures and all kinds of crap variants of the TMNT, Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady. And they started making up crap like Kowabunga Koins, Metalhead Michealangelo and armors with the spirits of dragons and stuff. What the hell????????? Was this like.. Playmates' final and extremely desperate way of trying to drag the TMNT line along until the New Mutation came out and gave them another reason to make more figues?

those were based off the anime version... the supermutation and armor ones that looked animal like and were given a certain element anyway... the rest? I dunno.

I wonder why they never released action figures of the anime episode where they turned into Wolverine clones....
DAMN... now I gave playmates an idea......

The supermutant ones were so dumb. I got one back in the day and always used it as a bad guy. I liked my leonardo one though where the armor snapped on and shtuff, he was pretty cool.

this really should be in the toy section and I'm sorry you dislike them but some of those toys happen to be some of my favorite toys in the line....a hell of allot better then crazzy cowboy don or birthday turtles...
I really loved the super mutants and wish they would have done all of the characters in that form it would have been awsome to get mondo geko and ray fillet like that...and I really loved the ideaa of putting cards and coins with the figures because it made them all the more special and some of those are really rare figures because it was the lines end.
but everyones entitled to there opinion but mine is those toys do not suck and happen to be some of the best figures in the line compaired to others and ones were getting today.

I liked a lot of those figures, ecspecially the ones that made it to the cartoon, ecspecially the Cyber Samurai figures. I only wish they did some kind of an elite Footsoldier in this line, it would have been awesome.
And I agree with Putrescent that the crads and the coins made the line somthing even more special, it gave kid's somthing else to collect and was just a bonus, I don't think the figures would have been any cheaper without the coins anyway.. But I can see your point as to how they basically stopped making new characters and kept making 10 different renditions of each turtle. It would have been better to see some figures of Tatsu, a movie accurate shredder and even maybe a few old mirage favourites that didn't make it to the toyline.
But it was great to see them bring ChromeDome back and have the best version of Kraang ever. Even warrior Rocksteady could still be used as his robotic version from the cartoon if a kid wanted to and you can't really bag shogan shoate and Triceraton. Those are wicked looking figures that I can only wish i could get my hands on them. Plus Shogan shredder's my favourite version of the shredder I own closely followed by Cyber Samurai shredder. Also it was nice to see all the turtles made into undercover (disguised) figures.
Even though there were some figures produced at the end of the line that I'd wish to forget, I'm happy that playmates still managed to squeeze some really cool figures in.

Shogun Shoate is cool, but they never made an 'original' Shoate, did they?
