Hell has frozen over...
Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation Volume 1 is released on 26th July 2004 and features the following:
8 Episodes:
East Meets West 1
East Meets West 2
East Meets West 3
East Meets West 4
East Meets West 5
Staff Of Bu-Ki
Silver And Gold
Meet Dr Quese
DVD Extras:
History Of..
Character Profiles.
I guess it proves any old trash can make it to DVD.
Anyway I'll probably buy it even though I think it's an insult to the Ninja Turtles. If you've never seen it before now you can see why people hate it so much :D and if you've seen The Next Mutation and actually like it (yes I think there are 2 or 3 people here who like Venus and co.) then I guess you be glad to hear this.

Is that for here in the USA? or elsewhere? The way you typed the date it seems Aussie or British...
My son might like to see the UNCUT TNM instead of the hacked crap I rented.

what's the reliability of the source? I'm not saying you're wrong, becuase I believe there was a member on here who knew about the Classic TMNT DVD like 1 whole year before the rest of the world, but I'd like to know where you go the info, thanks! :)

If you re-read the first post you'll notice at the bottom there's a link to the DVD shopping site Play which has the details listed (although I admit the link came out smaller then expected). They seem reliable enough to me, although I can totally understand why you'd have a hard time believing that show would ever end up on DVD.

I guess that link really was too small to see... it's in Region 2 format.

Me too. I've only ever seen East Meets West part 2 and even then it was the hacked to death version from FoxKids UK. I would like to see that five parter opening arch in all it's uncut glory...it WILL be uncut on the DVD right?

Hey, I want that DVD! I've only ever got see the 5 parts of East Meets West on that hacked video they were on so I'm curious to see more TNM and those other 3 episodes will do very nicely! :D *rubs hands together*

Just remember guys, there's been no announcement for Region 1, aka The US. So unless you have a region free player and a means to import it, you may not be able to get it here. Since I've heard nothing about a release of this planned for the U.S. at this time. :)

Guess you don't read the Fleming novels, that's what Bond ordered his martini to be served in in Casino Royale, a champange glass.

It will never see a DVD release here. I'm suprised it's having a release anywhere honestly.

Very cool news. I'll wait a bit to see if there's any news on a Region 1 release, but if there isn't I've got a region free player. :)

You know... I was never the biggest fan of Next Mutation... But I'd most likely buy this, just to have. And to watch, from time to time... Too bad it probably won't get released where I can get it.

It'll probably take ages for it to hit our shores too, the old toon DVD still hasn't arrived down under yet :( Nor has Season 2

Considering next Mutation's unpopularity, I doubt anyone here in Australia is going to bother obtaining the license to produce it for the Australasian market so if you have a multi region DVD player Jarrah, I highly suggest that you import it.
And even if it does get released here in Aus I think you're right it will be a hell of a long time before we see it. We got the Transformer's DVD's ages (like over a year) after the US did and the Australian transformers fanbase is a hell of a lot bigger than the current TMNT one. And we are yet to see the classic TMNT episodes released on DVD here also which I would expect to be seen way before any NM series pops up.
Guess only time will tell and I'm not too fussed if it shows up here or not.

Well... I don't know If I should cheer or jeer....
Dispite not liking TNM, I would give the show another go if it were on DVD (Probably rent it or something). But then again, my DVD pet peave is crap coming to DVD before great stuff. Does anyone really need a season one of "What's Happening?" or a platnum edition of "Porky's 3?"
And even still, I have a line of DVD's to buy ahead of TNM. I'm broke, so I don't even have season one of TMNT G1 yet.
Plus, I don't think TNM was even worth remembering, anyway. And since a lot of Fox shows are tied up under Disney license, I'd just woish they'd pick up something more popular, Like Eek the Cat. (Bobby's World is on DVD, however, but I'd rather see the cat).
Then again, as long as we have the new series and the old series, and all 3 movies, there should be a TNM DVD. As long as they don't release "Coming Out of their Shells" or "Christmas with the TMNT."
So. I still feel mixed, especially since it is region 2 (What dummy decided we should have more than one region anyway? Someone who wanted to snub the US no doubt....), but even then, I don't plan on getting it.
But Jarrah's happy, so the world is at peace.... :tcouch:

They do sell them! :D But try finding them anywhere... They're hard to find around me, at least.
Back on topic. You know... I'd probably BUY Coming Out Of Our Shells. If only for the nostalgia factor...

I never saw tnm, so I'll probably get it just so I can make my own decision. Curiosity didn't kill the cat, it made the cat go O_o wtf and be out $25 bucks.
I rely on my PS2 for all my DVD needs, and there's a PS2 Region X disc you can buy that lets you watch all regions on your game system. Handy dandy little tool.

The one problem you will have is that the disc is in PAL format, so it still won't play.

I only saw one episode which is a little blurly to remenber. I was only 9 when it came out on FoxKids(which is like the older brother of FoxBox)
I'll get it, if there'll ever be a US release. Maybe known to be the worst TMNT series of all. but atleast it's TMNT, only with less Shredder.

Here you go. :)
Also, if they do release more TNM DVDs, I hope they release the PR/TMNT two-part crossover as well. Normally I wouldn't be seen dead watching Power Rangers, but if it's got turtles I'm game :)

Thanks! ... Ahh! That's the stuff.
Yeah, I would love them to release that, even though, i wouldn't be caught dead watching anything other than Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. That Zeo and Space and Time stuff can just go. Although, Dino Thunder is cool because Tommy's back.
Back on Topic: I think I may have to invest in a new DVD player that will show region two stuff. I've seen 'em on ebay for pretty cheap, and i've been thinking of getting a second anyone for my other TV. We'll see what happens.

Well.....nutes. Looks like only the European PS2s will handle the PAL, region X disc or not.
Although different sites seem to have conflicting information about it - one says PAL doesn't matter, another says it does. @_@
So wait, the video that's available in the US now - is that any different from this UK DVD release? Different editing, or just different quality due to DVD conversion?

Just when you thought things couldn't get any worse it looks like Vol 2 is going to be released in October.
Don't know what's going to be on Volume 2 but if it's another 8 episodes then they could release the entire season on 3 DVD's. :dead:
