Raphael's girlfriends.

Hmm, kind of a love triangle here. In the original animated series, Raphael's girlfriend was Mona Lisa, a mutant lizard. In the Archie comics, Raphael's girlfriend is Ninjara, a member of the Fox people. Which do you prefere?

I don't remeber anything that really made mona lisa raph's girl friend...

I debated doing a love triangle thingy in my fan comic (or at least do one of my little side strips about it), but I just couldn't remember Ninjara or Mona Lisa well enough...so I nixed that idea....but more on topic here...I voted Ninji...though I HATE how that ended up.

umm....I don't know who to pick because I didn't see that much of the old toon and I've never really read the comics. Could someone post pics of them both and maybe give a summary of thier relationship with Raph? It would be very helpful. :D

The truth is, I think Raph is a much better character when he's single. If he gets a girl, then his appeal goes down in my eyes. He's much stronger of a character and a lot more interesting when he's searching for a cure to his loneliness.

At least that's what I think.

anyway i dont know who mona lisa is just saw some of her pictures but if i were raphael i would pic ninjara she got style and beauty to sad for raph she dumped him, if raphael just had listened to future raphs warning in the future shark trilogy maybe ninjara and him could have been still together.

Of course Mezcaal looks just like Ninjara! She's Ninjara's grandaughter..or great granddaughter....either way it's wierd that Raphael married the descendent of his true love. :P

Ninjara all the way tho.... Raphael ends up with Ninjara in 2 of my stories. I have Mona Lisa in my story too... I'll always be a Raphael/Ninjara fan tho.

I found out something interesting...

Mezcal, I understand was named after some kind of plant...well, I think they misspelled it. It's a tree called a Mescal, there's a few of them at the Alamo- i saw this tree and the sign explaining it's species and I was like..that's interesting...they misspelled Mescal.

its upsetting me they made a toy action figure out of mona lisa who apeared in one tv show, but they didnt do it when ninjara apeared in almost every single comic from number 28 untill the last tmtn comics from archies.

Ace fought Leatherhead in issue 7 of archie and the TMNT foguht Cryin Houn in that same issue. It was issue 37 that the Turtles fought eachother.

Your going to get probed with a unicorn by aliens from the planet Garkax 10 in the galxey Zoonib 5 before that happens. To obtain the rights to so many differnt characters like that would be insane and laywers wouldnt have it <_< It would cost alota money.

I've always wondered why Mona Lisa never appeared in another episode, since she was so popular with the fans. It appears that «Raphael Meets his Match» was written by Charles M. Howell IV, a guy who worked on The Snorks, Tiny Toons, Darkwing Duck, Animaniacs and Pinky & the Brain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Mona Lisa one was his one and only TMNT gig. Since most writers like the re-use characters they already worked with, maybe that's the reason why she never got a second chance. Maybe there's copyright reasons also (not all the characters in the TMNT universe are owned by Mirage, and the licensees want to use such a character, they have to sign a separate deal, hince the big Man Ray / Ray Fillet confusion).

Anyway, Ninjara's my main gal allright. One of the only person who can put Raph back in is place :P She had a big enough ego to counter her boyfriend's. Doomed relation from the start, but at least it was a relation. Raph would probably dump Mona after two weeks, and she'd end up crying on Mondo Gecko's shoulder.
