Its hard to explain this. I think it is a good thing they are releasing DVDS of the old series. Now-a-day kids never saw the old turtle series because they were never born and never heard of the old turtles series. It is a good chance for the now-a-day kids, since that is the only way to see the eps since they are not on any network. They only released the first dvd and should release the rest of the season, here is how to do it. Season 2, with all eps. Season 3 should be broken into 2 disks because it had 47 eps, Season 4 should be broken into 2 disks because it had 39 eps, Season 5 should have all the eps, including the prime-time ep, season 6 should have all the eps, season 7 should have all the eps, plus the europeon ones, and they should combine Seasons 8, 9 and the other half of 10 into one DVD. The Kids will know how the turtle craze began and will enjoy the old series and find it cartoonish compared to the current series.

What I am also saying is that the fans of the 80s/early 90s turtle series are in their twenties and a lot are almost moving on to graduating from college and incoming college students and high school students were todlers, just born or never born in the days of glory for the turtles. In other words any current teenger, adolecant and kid probably never even heard of the old series, maybe only through their brothers or sisters.

Because at this time, it is not possible to fit 39 episodes on two discs, unless they were doubled-sided, but I do not want to get into that. It is important for the next generation who love the 2003 Turtles to expierence what started it all.

I do mean 2 discs as 2 sepearate releases. I think they can fit like 20 something eps in a disk because they were able to with season 1 2 and 3 with Simpsons and the seasons for Buffy.

I agree the current generation of kids need to see what made the TMNTs so big in the first place, although personally I don't think many of them will dig the old toon especially if they've seen the new one first. Kids these days grow up too quick and are really difficult to please.

twenties?? who said they're in their twenties? damn I'm in my thirties! I was a fan just about from the beginning of the old show. Freshman year!

My son (9) LOVES the old series more than the new. He likes the silliness I guess...I an't bear to watch it since the new show. It's just ten times better...and Raph's ten time....ahh well....I wont go there... :evilgrin:

I like the old toon and the new toon just for different reasons. I like the old toon because it fills me with nostalgia and it's still pretty awesome and funny if you can tollerate corny. I like the new show for it's grittiness, writing, chracterization and realism.

I have younger cousins who LOVE the original more than the new series, and yes, they keep thinking Krang is The Shredder :lol:

(They watched "Secret Origins" after the first five episodes of the original series)
